We stayed for 4 nights in a King Superior room. Some things were good and some not so good. Access would be a problem if you struggled with mobility. It's an old building with narrow, steep staircases and feel quite unsafe. In fact, one of the steps feels as if it is about to give way. This is the middle of three treads as you go up to the first floor bedrooms.I'm glad that I'm not very heavy and pretty agile. Our bedroom on the first floor was over the toilets of the restaurant. The extractor fan below sounded like the throb of a engine on a cross channel ferry and vibrated the floor. What's more it keeps coming on and going off as people went to the loo. If you go to bed at about 10.30, as we do, this is a real problem. You may think that Brewood is probably a quiet village. However, there was a loud bar across the road with DJ at the weekend. We could hear the music in our room and people were raucous when leaving. The old single glazed windows gave no protection from the noise. We had breakfast on each of the four mornings. If you want a cooked breakfast there is a choice of 4/5 cooked alternatives. However, if you would prefer fruit, yoghurt, croissants, or anything else it is not available. Also, we had to wait an hour for breakfast to be served on Tuesday morning. The delay was due to a group of 6 non residents who came in for breakfast. When you book rooms you are advised to book tables for the restaurant. We didn't but it is essential to do this at weekends. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The staff that we met were not very helpful or engaging. They need training on how to be customer focused in recognition that they are in the hospitality business. We hope that our comments are helpful but we will not find out if changes are made as, on our next visit to the area, we will stay at another hotel.
