Hotel and Spa Gift Takayama provided an unforgettable stay in the Japanese Alps. The location is perfect—just a short walk from the train station and the beautiful old town . Our room was spacious and immaculate, blending modern comfort with traditional touches . The highlight was absolutely the stunning rooftop onsen with incredible mountain views; it was pure bliss after a day of exploring . The staff went above and beyond, and the included breakfast featuring local Hida beef was a delicious treat . Having a relaxing spa experience right in the hotel made our visit to Takayama truly special. We cannot wait to return!

We are here for their onsen (can opt for private or public) and because of its strategic location from the train station and bus station. There are alot of food options within short walking distance, around 10-15 min walk to reach miyagawa river and enjoy their morning market. The hotel provides odens and new year noodle because we spent new year during our stays. They put extra care for kids amenities with a cute slippers and handkerchief. We enjoy our stay in Takayam

The rooms are modern, clean, and thoughtfully designed with comfort in mind. Despite being close to the station, the rooms are surprisingly quiet, allowing for a peaceful night’s rest. The bed was very comfortable, and the amenities provided made the stay feel smooth and relaxing. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready with recommendations for food and sightseeing around Takayama. Their hospitality really made the experience feel welcoming. Overall, Relax Hotel Takayama Station offers great value with excellent comfort and convenience. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Takayama—whether for sightseeing or a short stopover. Just had an amazing time in this ryokan with a friend. The public bathroom in the open air - incredible, big, and also a lot of steam, along with the lighting of the lanterns, gives an incredible onsen-vibe! (But it was closed for cleaning at midnight, and not at one in the morning, as written in the brochure). There is also a sauna with a cold bath. After onsen, you can drink milk for free or eat ice cream from frozen juice. There is a separate paid lounge with unlimited beer, wine and whiskey. Private bathrooms are not bad, but not like public ones, plus they were constantly occupied by couples. The bath in the room itself is also not bad, but if you are tall, there may be problems with where to put your feet x) Dinner and breakfast were amazingly tasty. I especially liked the space on the street by the fire, where you can fry marshmallows or just sit after onsen to cool off with a strong drink) During the day we ride to Kamikochi, also a fantastic place)

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was very nice and comfortable. My daughter absolutely loved the bunk bed. The hotel also has a washing machine, dryer, and a water dispenser, which was very convenient. The staff provided excellent service and were very friendly. The room was fully equipped with all necessary amenities. Parking is available next to the hotel, just a short walk away. Overall, it was very convenient and comfortable. Highly recommended — one of the best places we’ve stayed!

The hotel is perfect if you are driving around the region. It has free parking. Location is not in the center, but just 8min away driving. They also have a shuttle that takes you there. Room is spacious (as for Japanese standards).

What an amazing hotel. First of all it is located in an amazing location very close to the bus station. Very close to ski places. As a hotel has onsens where you can relax. This was not very clear to the description, so I mention it here in the comment. Keep in mind that because the onsens are not for private use men and women are separated. The hotel was providing kimonos for men and women and sandals. It was super clean and we spent 2 nights, 3 days of our trip there where we fully relaxed while enjoying the hotel and the area like visiting takayama which is very close. The breakfast was very nice, and the dinner was a buffet. We didn't book in advance dinner but we had the option to pay extra so we enjoyed both nights the dinner, which was very good.

This was such a lovely place to stay. The room was nice and spacious, allowing us to feel at home. Not only were we taken care of by means of beautiful breakfast and dinner, but the staff were extremely helpful when we talked to them about hiking in Kamokochi. I would highly recommend booking this place especially with a meal plan, since it was nice to have food sorted after Hiking all day.
