Garden Retreat

Everything looks good, the design of the guest house, the materials that the house was made of, inside and outside. Nothing to say, nothing to complain about. I was pleased to see all of these, especially the restaurant from the base floor. But all of these good things remained in the past, as our room was not cleaned until the day before we leave. The garbage bins were overflowing and we had to deposit the rest of the remains in paper bags on the balcony. Dont get me wrong the balcony was quite a view... One night half of the guest house had an incident on the electric panel and we didn't have hot water until 10 o'clock next day. Combined with some very annoying lack of napkins and salt at the tables, lack of supervising in the restaurant, the late coming of the person who brought our meal, we changed our first opinion in time to what i write to you now. Everything because they didn't employ more personnel.

The owners went out of their way to provide any service they can to make the stay enjoyable. They went above and beyond by doing some laundry then refused any payment. I was extremely grateful because we were running out of clean clothes. The rooms were amazing. The restaurant provided one of the finest meals we had during our trip. The property was tranquil and relaxing.

Garden Retreat è una pensione a gestione familiare dove non è permesso soggiornare a persone al di sotto dei 14 anni, praticamente un adult only. Tuttavia i proprietari della pensione gestiscono anche un altra struttura frequentata da famiglie che come il Garden Retreat si affaccia sullo stesso prato che è un mini parco giochi. In sostanza il Garden Retreat, come affermato dalla proprietaria è un adult only solo all’interno. Peccato che essendo estate e si viva per lo più all’esterno, chi soggiorna qui dovrà fare il conto con schiamazzi e urla anche oltre le 23.00 e dalle 9,00 di mattina. Avendo fatto questa precisazione, la camera che avevamo era confortevole, con materasso comodo e biancheria di buona qualità. Il bagno invece era più datato rispetto al resto. Infatti la pensione è frutto di una ristrutturazione parziale ma non integrale (non insonorizzata). La colazione era solo a base di prodotti salati , di qualità mediocre. Inoltre quello che abbiamo potuto constatare è stata una gentilezza apparente e non una vera ospitalità. Come si dice, “massima resa minimo sforzo”.

A little far out of town but first class - lovely lady checked us in - we were I think the only guests - the rooms were old style but had a small lounge - coffee machines and a fridge - no Bar was on site neither was their a restaurant , but the Breakfast served in the room was very tasty and the Hotel its self has undergone a major face lift and the garden was vast - a first class area for Children - plenty of parking and it was really in the country
