Hotel Saint Germain

I booked an apartment for 4 nights in this hotel based on a website information. When we arrived at the hotel, a sleepy and indolent receptionist lady did not say even Welcome. I asked her to send the boy to take the luggage. She replied that they had no one to do it. Meanwhile, another woman who presented herself as the hotel manager joined us. Extremely rudely and impertinent, she said that to carry the luggage is the job of the ..... client in any 4-star hotel (???) (by the way, the room was at the high floor, no ascensor). She continued saying that if I didn't like, to leave the hotel, as she did not care .... I can just imagine which services this 4-star (who gave 4 stars to it?) could offer after somebody would check in and pay in advance for the stay. I strongly caution every potential guest about this hotel. It is the problem of the owner if he wants to keep such personnel. Of course we follow the "kind" advice of the manager, we drove less than 100 m to another hotel, also of 4-star hotel (Casa Popeea), where as soon as we arrived, the boy came and took the suitcases, And all the services in the following days were done with much consideration and respect for a guest.

Amazing hotel, a nice architectural building beautifully restored. Excellent restaurant and very nice personnel, trying to do the maximum to accommodate the guests. We stayed here several times over the years and we’ll be back. Tips: Parking (free) Restaurant ( breakfast, lunch, dinner) Iron and ironing table available (ask reception desk) If you leave early in the morning ask to prepare breakfast to go! Public garden nearby. Nice terrace with view to Danube. Book directly with the hotel, through email.

Hotel Saint-Germain must be your first choice if you're looking for the best accommodation in Braila. I travel a lot and rarely I can find such a hidden gem. Very clean everywhere you walk inside or outside in the summer garden . Rooms are very spacious, staff is very professional and the price paid is extremely rewarding for what you get. Car park is spacious and secure and the food served in the little restaurant downstairs is fresh and tasty. The feeling visiting this hotel everytime is more like a French " Relais and Chateau " experience with excellence in everything.
