Located in the heart of center city on a pedestrian-walking street. The building looks newly renovated with beautiful wood floors and stone walls. Our room was a third-floor walk-up. The rooms are clean and comfortable but small. There was really no place to put our luggage due to the size of our room. No chairs or seating, but there are two puff-type stools, two bedside tables, a place on one wall to hang clothes on hangers, and a valet stand. The Queen-size bed was firm. The shower in our room was a bit of a challenge with its narrow, corner double-sliding door that didn't quite shut tightly. The hotel shares an entrance hall with a hamburger restaurant that serves delicious (and big) hamburgers. Had the restaurant not been open so a waiter could advise us, we would have never known how to find the reception next door or how to check in. The receptionists in the shop next door are tremendously helpful once you find them in their shop and pleasantly answered all our questions. It would have been so much easier had the hotel sent us an email to explain the hotel has no lobby, reception desk, or receptionist. We found street parking in the block behind the hotel. The common area on second floor, which we discovered on our own, had four comfortable upholstered chairs, a dining table with three chairs, and a small kitchen area. There was no housekeeping between night one and night two. Perhaps that’s common in Portugal since we had the same experience in Porto. With all that said, it’s a beautiful and convenient place to stay.
