My husband and I have been a few times and have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We returned with a friend recently and were again not disappointed. Friendly smiling service, very enjoyable food and great ale. My friend was delighted with the pub. Thank you for a super evening, again!

Just popped in for a drink on our drive through the countryside. Nice little pub. It was quite busy, and as we'd not been before, we didn't know where to sit, and it's a really bizarre layout. We ended up sitting in like a lounge area, that was reserved, but we sat on a buffet as it was randomly placed. No table. Used the baby change facilities, which weren't too bad.

It was a very exemplary stay the food was amazing very friendly made u feel very welcome. Heather was brilliant all the staff were so intent on making our stay wonderful. Will be definitely be staying here again. Thank you x The showed was powerful the views are stunning would recommend.

Fantastic experience. We were driving by on our way to Sheffield and needed food! So glad we turned around and popped back. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and plentiful. The location is stunning. What more can you ask for? We'd love to be by this way again, just so we can drop in. Thank you guys - a great experience 1 tiny tiny bugbare of mine. I don’t like pots of cutlery on the table. You never know who has coughed, sneezed or snotted on them. But other than that - superb 😎

Went for Sunday lunch. The staff couldn’t do enough to help and were amazing. A great Sunday lunch for an amazing price. Food was piping hot and freshly cooked with plenty of Sunday lunch options. Then sat outside in the sun for further drinks with plenty of seating and a play area for families.

4 adults and 3 dogs, we ate her yesterday lunchtime. The food was amazing, home made and super tasty, large portions. Plenty of room for us all, no restrictions on dogs and water bowls and towels supplied, lovely touch. Staff were really friendly and the pub was spotless. I would highly recommend and we will definitely be back. Well done on getting perfection so soon after taking over. Keep up the good work 👍

Visited for Sunday lunch on Mother’s Day. Really disappointed with service. The pub wasn’t too busy and there were plenty of staff. No friendly welcome when we arrived. We had to ask twice to find out where our table was. No-one gave us a menu so we had to find them ourselves. I don’t mind bar service but it really felt a shame that we weren’t made to feel welcome at all. Especially on Mother’s Day. Food was good. It doesn’t cost anything to smile and say good afternoon. Very disappointed.

We were holidaying in the area, and decided to try here despite the poor reviews. The first time we came I had the sea bass and my husband has the pie of the day. Both meals were amazing! Relaxed atmosphere and great gin selection. Barmaids were friendly. A wait for food but that's what you get if you're after lovely homecooked meals. We went back with the rest of our family later in the week and we all again enjoyed all of our meals. Don't let the rubbish reviews put you off.

When we arrived we ordered some drinks and asked for a slice of lemon with my tonic water. The barmaid said that they didn’t have any. We then took our menus on large clipboards and sat where there is normally a large roaring fire, alas no fire. The room where we sat was not very warm but colder when unaccompanied children were frequently running from room to room through the outside door. We mentioned this to a member of staff,. We both ordered the lamb tagine with flatbread and Cumin mash. The flatbreads were burnt and the lamb was adequate. We overheard another family ordering burgers only to be told there was only one left. Overall a very disappointing evening!
