Craig Manor

Great stay at Craig Manor! The staff were outstanding, the hotel was comfortable and clean and everything was of a high standard. The breakfast was lovely and fresh with plenty of variety. Location was excellent. We will definitely return to this gem!

Lovely Hotel and staff. Fantastic location and delicious self service breakfast with plenty of choice and a view! Nice option to do a takeaway coffee and doughnut for your onward journey. Will stay again. Easy walk into both Windermere and Bowness

This was a fantastic experience from start to finish, the welcome was warm and friendly with a really quick and efficient process at Reception. Our room was clean and well equipped with a great array of drinks and fresh cookies. The bathroom was clean, well kitted out and contained lots of high quality shampoos and shower gels. All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the restaurant team made the breakfast experience a delight, serving a vast selection of freshly prepared food and drinks. The hotel was beautifully decorated and the views from the dining room decking was awesome. A really first class hotel and well worth a visit.

Stayed here for 3 nights in lake facing room. It’s true it’s lake facing but too far away from the lake to be truly lake facing. The breakfast is plentiful, cereal, pastries, orange juice, cooked, fruit salad. The room was lovely, heated towel rail which we had to switch off as room was quite hot and had to open window in the night. Tea/coffee in room. Room made up daily. Only thing negative is say is the cookies that are put in the room, I saw the cleaner had them uncovered in her cleaning tray. Being an immune compromised person I avoided them as can imagine the beds are made and bathrooms cleaned then cookies handled with unwashed hands. I felt they should at least be wrapped in something to prevent germs spreading. All in all a nice place . Location great 10 min downhill to Bowness and 15 mins uphill to Windermere (walking) I would recommend staying here

Massive thanks to our amazing daughter and daughter-in-law for our Christmas present. 1 night 2 days in a Lake District plush hotel, with a special delivery thrown in. A bottle of red vino and 2 glasses to our room. What a lovely surprise. Our stay was excellent from start to finish. Our girls know us so well. Craig Manor ticked all our boxes. Added bonus of a recent plush refurb to the highest standard. Free car park on site. Reception staff so friendly and welcoming. A big shout out to Jason who went above and beyond. We had the most beautiful lake facing room, small but perfectly formed. Quality not quantity. Complimentary special teas, coffees, hot chocolate and biscuits on offer. Comfy bed and no expense spared on heating - super warm and toastie - day and night. Modern bathroom (recent refurb by the looks of it) and we particularly loved the door. Power shower and large cubicle. Immaculate  - everywhere in the hotel  - not one spec of dust. You could eat off the floor. Amazing terrace area overlooking the lake and Langdale Pikes - you can take breakfast there (weather permitting) and soak up the spectacular views. Rum Nicky Breakfast Bar = Breakfast 5* (if I could give 10 I would). Black pudding I have never tasted the likes of in my life - locally sourced as was all breakfast produce. Actually my husband and I said this was one of THE best breakfasts we have ever had in our lives. And we have probably had 100s out and about!! They also have a bar - cocktails on offer (didn't try so can't comment). Location - 10 minutes into Bowness and 10 into Windermere - perfect!!! Gift vouchers available. Highly recommended.

This hotel is very nice. Free breakfast was really tasty. I have only come across 1 member of staff as I have been out most of the days however he was very friendly and helpful. The room is lovely and makes a change from a big chain hotel. However the walls are extremely thin. You can hear neighbours conversations clearly. Heaters are really good in the rooms. Nice distance from everything. In between Bowness-on-Windermere main streets and just slightly further from Windermere. Would come back again.
