We stopped on the way to the Cheltenham Festival to break the back of the journey from London. The H&G is positioned with beautiful countryside views. Great staff, fabulous bedroom/bathroom with lovely furnishings, roll top bath and the best loo-roll holder ever. The room also had a good tea/coffee range and biscuits. Great food choices for the evening meal and one of the best breakfasts ever with local produce. Such a lovely atmosphere the staff are so welcoming.

We had a great one night stay. Our room was comfortable and spacious, staff were very welcoming, friendly and so attentive. Our evening meal was so so tasty, and we really enjoyed breakfast Only very minor negative for us was a slightly odd and repetitive play list in the restaurant!

As soon as you walk in you can feel the coziness and warmth. The staff are all really accommodating and friendly, they will help you out with whatever you need. The rooms are decorated lovely, spacious and clean. They are very welcoming of dogs and leave bowls/treats out for them. The food at the pub was also 10/10 and was very well cooked. They had lots of gluten free options including fish and chips, then lots of breakfast options too. We would definitely stay again. It is a lovely 2 mile walk into moreton in marsh, just uphill on the way back!

Great pub, great food the menu is comprehensive and suitable for all quirks, the staff are very nice and professional, and anything the place it could do with a lick of paint and a freshen up as it’s a little tied, that said I would happily recommend.

The most lovely, cosy, warm and welcoming place. We went for a family catch up for Christmas and well it felt like Christmas as soon as I walked in, decorated so beautifully. Food was so good, service was amazing, Pip who sorted us out was so lovely and attentive, what a star.

Mum 89yrs was a weekly lunch customer here for over 20 years. After an illness I booked us in asking for a specific table she could access. On arrival they said they had no booking, left my old Mum standing at the bar while they discussed this amongst themselves. Finally seated I ordered a Caesar Salad. This was a plate of lettuce, toast not croutons, supermarket parmesan and no anchovies. Nothing else. I complained and was then told they had run out of anchovies so had given me a bigger portion. Essentially a plate of lettuce. On leaving I spoke with the 'manager' about our disappointing time. His response was unfriendly. My Mum had been looking forward all week to her outing. Staff seemed oblivious to her need for a little care. Despite the cute Cotswold image marketing, this establishment was then owned by a chain Cirrus Inns which in turn has been merged with the Liberation Group which consists of over 100 pubs, bars and inns with rooms, stretching across South West England and into the Channel Islands. You are not stepping back in time just forwards into false marketing. You hurt my Mum who believed after 20years she would get a welcome and be treated with respect She was a paying customer after all.
