This home is nonsmoking and pet free zone for anyone with allergies to stay. There’s 32” Roku Smart TV with guest mode to access all your subscriptions in living space.The bedrooms, great room/ kitchen all have doors to allow access directly outside no screen doors.The home has everything you need; bring your clothes, toiletries and a stop in town for groceries before heading up and it's your home away from home. It’s a great base for visiting Boulder, Nederland, and all the surrounding areas in the Peak To Peak region has to offer! Getting around car or suv is fine in June thru August September to November all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive is recommended due to snow possibility. NO RVs or trailers no parking or area to turn around.The tranquility is so serene and peaceful that it will leave you relaxed and refreshed that most likely will have you saying you never want to leave!Donna (the house manager), lives a few minutes away, and is available if needed. We are doing self check in. There’s a key pad for self check in. A code is provided a couple days prior to arrival as well as list of operations of things in home and check out information.Hiking & biking trails, kayaking, and paragliding are plentiful and nearby. The Switzerland Trail, Sugarloaf Mountain Trail, Dream Canyon and Betasso Preserve are all on Sugarloaf. The home is encircled by Mt. Pisgah, Comforter Mtn., Peewink Mtn., Bald Mtn., Sugarloaf Mtn. and is minutes from Brainard Lake. Rocky Mountain National Park, Indian Peaks Mountains on the Continental Divide, and Fourth of July trail near Eldora are a short drive.The home is 45 miles, (approx. 1 hour) from the Denver Airport. Fifteen minutes to Boulder or Nederland for shopping and restaurants. Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park is 45 miles away (about 1 hour 15 minutes) via the Peak-to-Peak highway, which is a beautiful drive.You may use the herb garden with Chives, Sage, Mint, Thyme, Lavender and Hops as well as a rhubarb patch.Other things to note:Tick season spring summer Do not leave food in car and lock doors to prevent bear activity. Do not leave house windows open when out and store all food in drawers and cabinets or fridge to prevent bear activityThe weather can be cool; 50's at night when the sun goes down; so bring layering options.The home is not suitable for under 3 and young children to roam they must be supervised at all times, there is approximately a ten foot drop-off on the outside of the home the length of the house. The home is built into a hill and the hill continues in front of home as well that levels off into a sloping meadow area. Please respect the home and property as if it were your own. To avoid wildfire risk: NO Smoking, NO outdoor campfires, NO target practice, NO hunting, and NO fireworks. All above are prohibited on the property. Nestled into the earth in the Rocky Mountain foothills above Boulder, Colorado, The Chaled (Chalet + Shed) is a sunny, relaxing hideaway. It’s located on expansive land bordering the National Forest with abundant wildlife, yet just 12 minutes to downtown Boulder and 17 minutes to the ski town of Nederland. It has high-speed internet, off-street parking, mature fruiting apple and apricot trees, a small lawn and garden, and a stone patio and outdoor dining area.You'll have the 350 square foot cabin and its private yard to yourself. It's situated on a quiet, paved road with little traffic and is part of a larger property with a single family home in full-time residence with two kids. (The main house and one neighboring house are approximately 100 yards away.) A south-facing window seat is always the favorite spot to read or watch wildlife, and the open floor plan includes comfortable chairs, a dining table with chairs, and a fully equipped kitchen. The bedroom is quiet and cozy and has ample storage space. The bathroom includes tub and shower. The outdoor dining table with umbrella, grill, and outdoor seating overlook the property and are delightful for outdoor meals and entertaining.Guest accessThe cabin is easily accessible from Boulder via paved roads. One parking space is provided in front of it. AWD or 4WD is not necessary most of the year, but in the winter, if snow comes down, it is recommended to get up and down the mountain roads safely.Other things to note:The cabin has high-speed internet and cell service, depending on your carrier (AT&T seems to work best up here.) The WiFi is fast, and to use your cell phone for phone calls/texts, simply turn on “Wi-Fi calling”. Please note that there is no AC or TV. Hang out in the hammocks, jump on the trampoline, play corn hole and relax by the outside fire pit. With over 300 sunny days a year in Colorado you will have plenty of time to enjoy the outdoors. For the outdoor enthusiast incredible hiking and biking trails are easily accessible from the property. There is rock climbing in nearby Boulder canyon. Nederland skate park, Ice rink and tennis courts are minutes away. In the winter enjoy skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and/or cross country skiing at nearby Eldora Mountain Ski Resort or backcountry trails. We offer high speed internet and free WiFi. You need not walk along the highway, there is a shortcut path by the SE corner of the Community Center parking lot. Plan a little longer time walking UPHILL from town or the RTD(bus lot) to the apt.- The driveway is steep and during winter 4WD or AWD and snow tires are A MUST to make it up. That being said, it is south facing and snow/ice melts off quickly on sunny days. There is public parking across the highway at the Community Center and you can walk up and/or I can help shuttle your luggage up.- We do our best to maintain the driveway and walkway free of snow and ice but it will be slippery at times.
