Our experience was nothing short of amazing. The staff is friendly, the food was great and the place is clean. The view from our room was scenic Thank you to everyone for making this getaway special. The staff made sure that we had everything that we needed and more.

Such a stunning place. The staff are brilliant. So friendly and so accommodating. The rooms are spacious, luxurious and clean. Food was exceptional. Knowledge from Ross and Anna was very informative on our game drives. Thank you again to Leta, Piet, Frans and team for taking good care of us. We will be back.

I wanted to treat my wife and booked a long weekend in the "Presidential" suite or Royal suite. Piet was at hand to indicate where to park and took our luggage. Letta booked us in with a cold welcome drink on the side. Very professional and friendly. Piet took us to the suite, and what a suite it is. We got a view to die for, a huge space, private pool, outside shower and a veranda that we spent most of our time on looking over the beautiful landscape. This is truly a small piece of heaven. Small little issues started to appear as our hot water did not work although following the instructions provided. It was solved quickly after the staff was informed but if you a pay premium price, you expect premium service and hot water to work. Unfortunately water stayed an issue as I twice could not finish a shower as the water stopped flowing. The joys of staying in a five star resort. The staff is very friendly, but lack the finer touches to make your stay memorable. Taking long or even forgetting a request, but the food prepared by Salomina was a highlight and made up for the small glitches. The fold down service in the evenings was appreciated but expected at this price point. The unit itself is amazing, but need some TLC. The thatched roof on the front veranda looked tatty, the pool pump made a horrible noise, some lights in the unit did not work, and a door did not close properly. There is no tissues provided as we expect. I did read some of the other comments by people that stayed at Zwahili and brought our own Peaceful Sleep and water. Quite baffling that we have to pay R20 for a small bottle of water in the room. In all other establishments we visited in the last three months, water is provided to customers. Our experience of this beautiful lodge is divided. On the one hand it is really special, the views, the size of the suite, the friendly staff and excellent food. And the lions kept on roaring day and night to give that Africa charm. But on the other hand it felt as if there is a scarcity mentality. The niceties that we expected to be part of an expensive stay, was optional. This place needs a loving hand to bring it back to it's former glory days. But we will probably come back. The setting sells this place.
