"The historical value of the place and the quality standards of hospitality are not on par. As a guest of the hotel I do not recommend it: dark and cold room, overlooking a courtyard at the back of a restaurant (unbearable fumes of fried food and sauce), upholstery in need of sanitization, no wardrobe, reception telephone, minibar, shelves in the bathroom, bed pillows in extreme conditions, musty smell, deodorants everywhere, dark frills and a receptacle for mites and dust, no air conditioning system, it was a challenge to take a shower in fact. No internal bar service, no porter for luggage and stairs, no service, apart from the cleanliness of the room which I also had something to complain about, in the structure, no hall, no bar, not even water in the room (very different from the photo) .... staff not very empathetic. And something obsolete: we paid for the stay at check in and not at check out: rather in bad taste I would say (chasing on the stairs to urge us to do it immediately and after having tried without notifying us to do it on the card number provided at the time of booking with payment at the facility..... unbelievable stuff)! I would not recommend it except as a museum to visit..... maybe ....!"

"The location on Piazza Dante Alighieri is convenient to the lake, 2 lake front restaurants, and a pretty walk on a hydrangea lined street up to the walled city section. Convenient parking in a gated lot behind the hotel. Stop in front of the hotel on the piazza to checkin, drop bags, and then park. There is an elevator for handicap access, but all access to the pool is via steps. The hotel furnishings and decor is very traditional, pretty, and the photos are representative. There is a very nice pool that has a couple umbrellas for shade. Breakfast is provided: meat and cheese, bread, yogurt, cereal, and assortment of cakes and croissant. Coffee/tea/water. Breakfast ends at 10:30 and they will ask if it’s ok to clear food starting at 10:15, so don’t go down late. The shower is a corner shower. Half of each of the doors on the sides (not against the wall) slide back. Some will find the entry to the shower to be small. It wasn’t an issue for us. We will complain about the air conditioning. Where the hotel has a/c, it is not effective enough to adequately cool the rooms. There is no individual temperature control in each room, so you only get whatever temperature the hotel sets. It seems the temperature gets turned up a lot during the day (or the a/c cannot keep up with the heat during the day) and by the time it starts running at night, it is too hot to sleep. Around 8:30am we can notice cooler air blowing in the room, but it’s too little too late. At 37C outside, it was uncomfortable to sleep. Even opening the window didn’t help at night."

"This hotel is lovely in general. But needs improvement. Ita biggest advantage is that it has a private beach. A few steps from your room and you're by the lake. The hotel is very clean, but quite old fashioned. The shower room is big, but in itself is very small and not comfortable for a shower after a lake dip. Also for short people the choosing if shower head is impossible. The hotel has an AC in the rooms and halls only. The reception, lobby and dining room doesn't have any AC. In 38c it's tough. In our room the AC was extremely loud. To a point it woke us up at night. In the mornings the hotel turns it off on purpose. Both in the halls and the rooms. Which was making it a bit harsh to take our time in the morning before leaving for our day. The hotel serves a continental breakfast with not much variety. Though it was nice to see some gluten free products. Does it worth the 60€. Sadly no. It's important to mention I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone with a disability. There is no access. Only stairs, no lift and no ramps for wheel chairs or people with mobility problem. The location of the hotel is why the stay there is quite nice. 6 minutes drive from town, private beach, parking, very clean rooms and a, sweet kind staff. I just hope they will improve on the ac, showers, and accessibility that is important to allow more people to enjoy. It's not worth the 170€. But if some improvements will take place, it sure will. (curly gals pack a, hair conditioner, you'll need it btw) "
