I tried to have a conversation with my host Misbah but he told me to write a review instead, so here goes. Going for the first time to the Maldives staying in Coco Bodu Hithi was an absolutely amazing and fantastic honeymoon vacation. I do not regret spending $10K for the Escape Water Villa (nr. 511) and All-Inclusive package and can recommend anyone to do the same. The island, beaches, coral reef, marine life, service, staff, buffet, water sports, villa, etc are all really wonderful. But that does not mean there isn't any room for improvement. What bothered me the most is that the most expensive All-Inclusive package is not All-Inclusive. And I am not talking about expensive alcohol here, which I could understand to be excluded. We ordered a milkshake (not even a very good one) at dinner and had to pay extra for that. Besides the delicious daily buffet there were multiple a-la-carte dinners in the restaurants included in the All-inclusive package, however in the restaurant it turns out half the menu has a surcharge. We even had to pay extra for a piece of chicken, which I could have had free of charge and eat unlimited at the All-Inclusive buffet. Afraid for more disappointments, we cancelled the other a-la-carte dinners. The water villa was beautiful and spacious and had a 2-person bath tub, however no water pressure nor enough hot water to actually fill it and use it. Very disappointing on our honeymoon. The mini bar had juices and soft drinks included in the All-Inclusive package, but after using them it took 3 days to get them refilled, although housekeeping comes twice per day and I already complained on day 1. The submerged part of the private wooden stairs from the villa in to the ocean was rotten and missing the bottom steps and handrails. This in itself was not a problem, however the mounting screws from the missing handrails were still dangerously exposed with some sharp piece of wood just under the water surface. The main thing to do on a coral island is to go into the water, however the villa has zero accessories to hang out and dry your swim or snorkeling gear. Coral and marine life preservation are important issues for these resorts and they hire private marine biologists to help out with that task, but on the other hand the cleaning staff accidently drop mops, towels and whole bottles of soap on the coral reef without picking them out of the water. In my short stay I picked up 4 mops from the shallow reef right besides the walking path that plenty of staff members saw too but chose to ignore, and I saw a full bottle of soap get dissolved in the water. If you want to save and restore the reef, start by not destroying it. Get some sticks with hooks and tell your staff to actively remove contaminations from the water. Nevertheless, I had a great stay and could be persuaded to come back again. So dear manager, persuade me,....
