The place is beautiful and has a modern touch and learning about the names of each room was very interesting overall the stay was pleasant and the service during arrival and breakfast time was great in exception of the delay in response from their Watsapp which is a form of communication with the host or concierge personnel, it was a pleasant stay thank you

Wir waren eine Woche in Salt …das Hotel ist schön sehr sauber, ruhig , mir hat das ganze Konzept sehr gefallen… Leider in unserem Zimmer bzw. Badezimmer waren paar kleine Sachen Kaputt.. In großen werde ich das Hotel weiter empfehlen.

Arrived at Salt Boutique and wow what a wonderful stay. The design and location of the place is great. The stuff is very friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in Is very comfortable and clean. Their family style of having breakfast on the long table is great to connect with other travellers. Oh the breakfast itself was good. Worth seeing the other side of CapeTown.

Where to begin. This boutique guest house amazing looking when you first arrive and take in the splendour of the decor. This soon fades once it becomes apparent it adjoins a backpackers lodge of the name Salticrax! No where does the guest house mention this before booking nor on their website. We often found unsavoury characters in the boutique guest house areas which didn’t instil confidence in privacy or security. We saw and smelt people smoking pot quite a few times with one time at the pool where it’s clearly sign posted ‘no smoking’. Another time someone tried to light a fire in the communal area.. In our first room we were told previous occupants had tried to take the tv and steal the ipad there. Again not instilling much faith in security. Our air con unit was broken. Chris and the management were however mostly accommodating to our needs though hence the 2 stars but the list of negatives goes on.. Terrible breakfasts for most of our stay except the last day. Some days there was no milk other days no English breakfast which we were told was because of loadshedding although we were also told they weren’t affected by it. Also most of the foods didn’t taste fresh nor did the coffee touch sides. Laundry was often dirty and sometimes with holes in the towels. One day there was no hot water. The beds were very comfy though. Lights were always off at the entrance of the property which made it unwelcoming and feeling unsafe at night. The decor is lovely but the ‘boutique’ service is lacking and they really need to completely section off the backpackers Accomodation with their own reception area.

The Guesthouse is in a stunning location. With any advertised 5 star establishment the devil is in the detail. Part of the check-in is the receipt of a WhatsApp message detailing entry codes etc. It would be great if someone would talk you through the arrangements if you want your room cleaned. Verbal communication to confirm what I as guest am required to do. Rather don't assume that I will read all the detail (which I didn't). We are also in the tourim industry and we share these comments in a constructive light to allow management/owners to address the shortcomings we identified: 1. By 13:30 the main welcome area of the Guesthouse had not been cleaned properly. Cushions were still left as is by a group who checked out yesterday. They were having lunch there (takeaways) when we arrived. This afternoon there were still remnants of chips, a chocolate wrapper and an uncleaned coffee table visible. 2. The large ottoman in the reception area is visibly dirty and requires urgent cleaning. 3. The blockout curtains in the room also urgently require cleaning. Visibly dirty. 4. The large carpet in the bedroom has a "sticky" feel to it. It also needs a good clean. 5. The grouting in between the tiles in the shower needs a proper clean. Your peak season is just around the corner and if you manage to address the above with improved onsite management and supervision you'll once again be at the top of your game.

Myself and my husband booked a one night stay at SALT Boutique Guest House. It was our first time staying in a smart room, I think it's called.....we actually got so lazy telling google to do everything :) We occupied a room right by the pool, and enjoyed a late night splash accompanied by a pizza and a glass of wine. Thank you to the friendly staff (Christopher, Moeshfiqah, Rumi and Sandy) for making our evening a pleasant one.......and a big thumbs up to the kitchen staff for the amaaaaaazing breakfast.
