Fairway Lodge

Stag do from Wales everything you need, close to the town, great bar and prices, room was big and very clean. Jason the barman was a legend couldn't do enough for us highly re stocked the fridge with the drink we wanted got the karaoke out for us brilliant weekend. Highly recommend. We'll be back.

Started badly when we tried to book in, Fairway Lodge is a sister hotel and a we were told to do to Fairway Hotel (up the same road) to book in, No sign of anyone available, after 20 min wait went back to the Lodge, door finally answered and were told hed be there in a few mins, returned to the hotel and the Guy turned up 5 mins later. Booked in to the B&B to be told that they no longer provide breakfast, and the B&B stood for Bed and Bar. even though some tables at the hotel were clearly set out for breakfast!!! Given keys to get in to the building, and room, looked like all the locks had just been changed as the locks were loosly fitted. (In fairness they worked ok) the layout of the 2 bedrooms was very dated, and just about clean enough for us to stop. Both rooms were equipped with a TV that was so small it was hardly visible from the bed, and had very limited channels, could not get BBC at all. In room 5 (twin room) the light fitting by the bed was hanging off the headboard Bed linen was old and faded, Bed comfort was reasonable, however the blinds in the very large windows would not cover the window, which allowed the light through, and a couple of the pulley system was either broken or missing altogether. There was a kettle but had to use the plugs on the carpeted floor as the lead was too short to plug in where placed, contrary to the notice in the bedroom tea/coffee and milk was non existent, Couldn't find anyone to ask. Watch the water in the bathroom as the hot is very hot, Shower tray in Room 2 filled quickly and took a time to drain. Toilet seat cracked. As has been mentioned elsewhere on here the wallpaper was patched with filler, or had holes in it. The street was very noisy until about 3 AM with shouting, and car doors banging just outside the Front windows, which prevented any sleep (Not the hotels fault I realise) the street seemed to be on the main route for visitors to stagger home late at night after the Local amusement/Pubs closed well after midnight. Does the Lodge have anything to recommend it, Not a lot, but it is close to the beach front and attractions. I could go on but really cant be bothered, Will not be back, and would not recommend this place at all.
