The Fernhurst by Greene King Inns

Basic rooms with bathrooms which are extremely dated and in desperate need of a refurbishment. I was very disappointed I asked for a double room and got two single beds shoved together, not comfortable at all. Bedding was clean but the room was very dusty. The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful.

After a bad experience Friday. Not involving staff. I want to congratulate all staff involved looking after myself and my mum Brenda. Rob, Matt, John, katie and all concerned. Loved my stay also. Credit to everyone. Thanks Garry. I'll never forget this. See you soon.

On arrival we were met with a reception that wasn’t manned and the doors were actually not security locked (with a key card) as the doors weren’t shut fully which automatically put us on edge. When me my partner and our 2 year old daughter went into the room, the room was not up to a basic standard of hygiene, the floor was dirty and there was several holes and brackets in the wall. There was some white powder on the bottom of the hairdryer. There was some kind of liquid on the bathroom wall, and no hand soap available. There was also no hot water in the morning. We had to rush off for a family meal immediately after a 5 and a half hour drive to arrive at the hotel. After asking for hand soap in the room we had to leave the hotel for the meal and had no other choice other than to stay for one night. The next morning we woke up to find there was no hot water at all. When We expressed our full concerns and were offered to have our breakfast on the house by the restaurant team, as an apology but we expressed that we didn’t want to stay a second night with our 2 year old and would be finding somewhere else to stay . After communicating back and forth with the manager they agreed to give us a partial refund and again apologised. This is obviously appreciated but I truly hope that they listen to our feed back and concerns and rectify the issues as this is not acceptable, especially with a young child.

Nice hotel Nice clean comfortable big room

Stayed for 1 night due to attending a match at Ewood Park with my teenage son. I couldn't believe how close the hotel is to the ground. Literally 2 minutes away. I was a little worried after reading reviews on here but there was nothing to worry about. The room was a little dated but clean and comfortable. The bed was comfy and we heard no noise whatsoever from the road or corridor. One thing to note was we only had one set of towels and I didn't see a hairdryer so just check the hairdryer situation if you're going to need one. I would definitely stay here again and definitely recommend here if you're going to Ewood Park.

Tired throughout On arriving at reception, kids and anti social behaviour hanging around, not hotels fault but they were messing around with a supermarket trolley on the car park. The female member of staff belittled the man on reception numerous times which made us feel uncomfortable and genuinely no need. Very tired interior throughout. The walls on the staircase had splatter of some description like something had been thrown. Room 24. On entering the room greeted with disheveled curtain and light shade. Mouldy bathroom with dirt/mouldy grout and sealant. Mouldy ceiling. The toilet seat didn’t fit the toilet and moved. Even though the bedsheets were clean, they had previous stains, dread to think about what’s underneath them, with how the rest of the place is. Sorry to say I won’t back
