I've nothing to add to the all-too- accurate descriptions of the dismal condition and quality of the accommodation which lots of others have left here but if you are not warned off by these then also beware that the claim of 'free parking' made on the website is disingenuous. What is not clear from the poorly lit car park and total lack of information given you by the hotel staff is that registration is required to avoid charges, not with the person checking you in but on some screen somewhere, to which your attention is pointedly not drawn. My miserable night's stay thus came with a £170 parking fine a few weeks later. Nothing on the website or in the 'welcome' on your arrival informs you of this eventuality, almost as if the hotel and Smart Parking Ltd are in cahoots... Birmingham is a great city; don't spoil your visit by risking a stay here!
