Dans la région, le paysage est juste magnifique Tenorio. La route est pourtant longue, mais à l’arrivée, le décor vaut la peine. Le lodge fait partie intégrante d’une plantation de cacao. Nous sommes accueillis avec un verre de chocolat glacé. Très bon début de séjour ! La chambre est tout en bois et correspond en tout point à ce qu’on peut attendre d’un éco lodge. La terrasse (commune à deux chambres) donne sur un champ de cacaotiers. Dès notre arrivée, nous sommes récompensés, car nous y apercevons (enfin) des colibris, un des buts de notre voyage. Émotion garantie. Une excursion en particulier nous intéressait pour le lendemain : la visite de la réserve du Rio Ne gro. Cette réserve se situe à 80 km du lodge et nous supposons que c’est pour cette raison que peu de touristes souhaitent y aller. Il a fallu négocier avec la réception qui nous a aidés à réserver nos places après de nombreux coups de fil. La route (ou plutôt la piste du moins sur les derniers 30 km) a été chaotique et peu pratique. Tout déplacement prend un temps fou avec ce réseau routier. Quand nous sommes arrivés, nous avons été pris en charge par le patron de l’hôtel organisant l’excursion, qui fut un guide très attentionné pour la longue visite en bateau. Le patron a tout de suite compris que nous nous intéressions aux oiseaux et a fait de nombreux détours pour nous faire découvrir un maximum d’oiseaux. C’était inoubliable. Le lendemain, au lodge, nous avons aussi fait la visite guidée de la filière du cacao. Intéressant, mais il n’y avait rien à voir en activité. Côté positif encore : la nourriture. Nous y avons très bien mangé et le personnel est accueillant. Ce lodge nous laissera de très bons souvenirs, même si 2 nuits, c'est peut-être un peu court pour découvrir les autres réserves à proximité.

Ne vous arrêtez cependant pas trop au titre de ce commentaire vous comprendrez plus tard. Ce lodge est très joli au plein milieu d’une plantation de cacao. Les chambres sont très confortables, bien aménagées avec tout ce qu’il faut, certaines avec douche ouverte sur la terrasse et jacuzzi. Un espace détente commun avec jacuzzi chaud et froid est à disposition. L’espace restaurant est très joli avec un feu le soir et une cuisine ouverte. Un menu fixe très bon concocté et servi par des dames très serviables (nous avons dîné 2 soirs). La confection de votre chocolat est un moment super surtout pour moi qui adore faire mes propres chocolats j’ai appris plein de choses. La visite de la plantation est également très intéressante. Alors nous me demanderez pourquoi pas excellent et bien parce que cet endroit qui pourrait être magique manque d’une âme qui lui donne vie. Nous n’avons vu que des employés jamais le propriétaire, ni une personne qui semblait impliquée. C’est dommage.Cela dit cette étape reste conseillée. Enfin une petite suggestion à la direction pour le transport du chocolat vous devriez penser à vendre des petites glacières souples à votre logo je suis sûre que ça marcherait.

Pas facile pour y arriver mais l'endroit se mérite vraiment. un lieu unique a ne surtout pas manquer si vous allez au Costa Rica. Environnement très agréable en pleine nature, la visite guidée est très agréable. Le concept des chambres isolées sous forme de "cabane en bois" rend l expérience sympathique. L'heure de jacuzzi offerte permet de se détendre dans une atmosphère agréable. Le lieu des repas reste aussi original et les propriétaires toujours à 'écoute de leurs hôtes. Franchement sans hésitation une des meilleurs expériences sur les 15 jours passés dans ce beau pays.

Les hébergements se trouvent dans une plantation de cacao.l accueil est très gentil.le tour du cacao permet de visiter la plantation et de comprendre l eco système.le petit déjeuner est savoureux et le chocolat très bon.cependant l hébergement n est pas au niveau.chambre petite,spartiate,douche d un autre âge.l hébergement est à revoir

Parfait en tous points Nous cherchions un endroit au calme loin des zones touristiques trop fréquentées et nous l’avons trouvé. Après environ deux heures d’explication sur comment faire (et le faire soit même) du chocolat nous sommes repartit avec 24 tablettes de chocolat. L’endroit est loin des sentiers battu et ils exportent vraiment leurs productions vers la Suisse et la Belgique. Sur place aussi une petite unité de production de tablette de chocolat. Malheureusement nous n’avons pas pu faire le tour de la plantation avec l’explication de la récolte mais c’était tres instructif tout de même Des lodges sont aussi disponibles Et nous avons pu tester le petit restaurant qui se trouve sur place. Bref parfait n’hésitez pas

The tour of the farm and making chocolate were a highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. Thank you Raquela and team! Highly recommended. Minor suggestion: I wish the juice from the cacao pod was packaged in plastic or a juice box, instead of glass, so that we could have taken some home.

We did a tour of the farm, and it was awesome! Our tour guide was amazing, the coffee was great, and we even got to see a baby sloth! They are a fully organic/sustainable preserve, which was so awesome to learn more about. They are very close to Rio Celeste as well so very convenient to get to.

We did an overnight trip at the farm and loved every minute of it! We arrived for the 1:00 farm tour (and even got to see a sloth in one of their trees on the farm) and learned out how they grow cacao. We did the 4:00 chocolate making, which my 9 year old just loved! Later we reserved our 1 hour time slot at the spa (the hot and cold plunge baths were relaxing, immaculate, private and refreshing for all of the family). We did have to ask someone to serve us drinks (which wasted about 15 minutes of my hour). After the spa, we enjoyed their delicious dinner, cold chocolate drink, and then headed to our cabin. After settling in, we had brought flashlights to walk the grounds looking for animals. Saw lots of large frogs and heard other animal sounds at night which was fun. It would have been nice to have had porch fans and larger fans in the rooms, since they aren't air conditioned, but believe it or not, we were still comfortable. Highly recommend this quaint, unique location, that makes you feel like a million bucks!

A lovely place to stay. The chalets are all wooden and spacious and the beds have mosquito nets. Food is super, they even have a decent go at vegetarian meals. We particularly liked the breakfast. We wanted to be at the park when it opened so they prepared a quick cold breakfast for us one morning. We did the cocoa tour which was really interesting.I have been to many chocolate factories so it was fascinating to see the cocoa beans on the trees and how they are farmed. The chocolate they make is really nice. The welcome chocolate drink we were given was incredible. The road to the farm from the Bijagua to the National Park road is really rough and is really only suitable for a 4x4 vehicle. If you foolishly hire a normal car like we did there is a more suitable route which is a bit longer but way less stressful.
