Barnacle Bed and Breakfast

I wish I had known, and this is my fault for not knowing that the Keys beaches aren't usable. We tried to kayak once but the beach was so rocky so far out that it was difficult, swimming was impossible. The location was very quiet and not touristy like Key West, which is what we were looking for. The breakfast was abysmal (packaged bagels, yogurt and cold cereal), I've had better at a Best Western. The location is right on the Atlantic and parking is free and easy. The treehouse is rustic and has a shower the size of a submarine shower and bring your own body soap. But its nice and private and separate from the main building. The key deer visit nightly and are adorable. If you want to read a book in the sun or shade and watch the sea all day, this is a nice place to do it.

Nice place to rrelax by the water, enjoy the laid back Keys and unwind.

We had an absolutely unforgettable 2-nights stay in here, where we enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the beautifully calm environment. The room (Ocean View) was very spacious, comfortable bed, very spacious bathroom with rain shower, gorgeous ocean-view, lovely beach where the accommodation offers complimentary kayaks or boat, great sunsets, and deers walking up to us 'begging' to be petted. Gorgeous experience, not far from Key West (half hour drive) and we're looking forward to returning soonest.

Cold- not working heater

Not the best There were a large number of flight delays and I tried to keep managementinformed with multiple emails and voicemails. Only one response was received. That was from someone with very poor English skills. She sent a video of how to find the room. We arrived very late only to find the door to our room to be padlocked with a combination lock. No combination was provided until the next morning. Manager had mentioned that we could use a fifth wheel travel trailer if there were "issues with the door". We did sleep in the trailer that night. When I discussed this with manager the next morning, she provided the combination but not offered no apology or refund. I feel that there should have been some attempt to compensate us for the substandard accommodations on our first night. All that being said, the property was quite nice, with direct beach access from the room. Also had quite a few Key deer each evening!

Great spot away from the tourists We stayed in the Ocean room and it was fantastic! A walk out to the beach with your morning coffee or evening beverage couldn't be better. You can watch the Key Deer walk right by! (Don't forget it's illegal to feed them. That's for their own good folks) Wendy whips up a plentiful and tasty breakfast. The AC worked great and the bed was super comfortable. You can snorkel just a few miles away at horseshoe beach or Bahia Honda beach. We look forward to coming back next year!
