The place is indeed a palace, converted into a hotel with minimal modifications to match the luxury standards of today. The rooms are spacious (atleast the one in which i stayed. The electrical panels are almost 100 years old. The fan is also of the same vintage. The elevator was made in uk in those times. The rope of the swing, as told, is 300 years old. So yes, they have tried to preserve the heritage and vintage of the building. Washroom size and room size is big and it opens into a large common 'aangan. Food is good and reasonable. While at first blush one doesn't get the sense of typical maintenance, we see, in modern five star hotels, but the place offers a very agreeable feel once you look and walk around. There is a roman style swimming pool and also a shooting range. While pool is free for use, shooting range is chargeable. Plenty of parking. Would have wished to see a better paved entry to hotel foyer. Currently it's pebbeled. Overall a fantastic experience.
