Tickton Grange Hotel

The staff were excellent from entering reception to leaving nothing was too much trouble. The room clean and comfortable. Food was excellent and served with a smile, had the Bloomsbury menu choice brilliant served by caring staff who were attentive but without being intrusive, very professional. The place is so relaxing. Will be back again and soon.

Perfect place for good food, good service and beautiful surroundings. Nothing is too much trouble at Tickton and everyone goes that extra mile. Cosy by the fire today with the rain pouring outside really was a relaxing treat. We are so lucky to have Tickton Grange on our doorstep- a traditionally great establishment- don't miss it you will not be disappointed ❤️

Attended a Christmas event here with a family member just before Christmas. I had paid for 2 food vouchers, however, when being served female staff member refused to allow us to have a second meal, even though we presented her with food voucher. She was rude. She also allowed a man to jump the queue. I attach a photo of the staff member in question. She is on the left. We were made to feel as if we were a damn nuisance by Tickton Grange staff. They are unhelpful, rude and contemptuous. This is not the first time they have mistreated us in this way. As the staff are hostile I would not recommend Tickton Grange as a venue. They absolutely ruin your experience. If it was not for guests like me this venue, like many others, would go out of business. Customers are the life blood of any business. This reality seems to be lost on Tickton Grange's staff. They desperately require a crash course in rudimentary customer care skills.

Over the years we have used the Tickton Grange hotel several times over the past 20 years. My father celebrated his 65th and 70th birthdays in one of the hotel's rooms available for private hire. The hotel was originally a small country house circa 1840, and is located just a few miles from the historic town of Beverley. It still retains olde fashioned charm and character, sadly lacking today. This is down to its long standing owners of more than 40 years, who are present to greet all arriving guests on Christmas Day. We started going for Christmas dinner in 2018, and have only missed one in 2020 when due to Covid restrictions it was closed. The food is always consistently excellent, and the staff very friendly and efficient. The hotel caters for all, at all times of the years and is popular for afternoon tea.

The visit to the Tickton Grange was to celebrate my wife’s birthday, the evening just fell a bit short. The food was excellent and the service was very good the reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was the restaurant and lounge bar area was uncomfortable cold, had it been warm it would of been a pleasurable dining experience.
