The Waterloo Hotel

Lovely hotel at good location, around 10 mins walk to the town centre. I love the swimming pool, sauna & steam room, excellent facilities. And the food there was good too!

My husband and I have been to the Waterloo a fair few times over the past few years. We love it as a base for activities in Snowdonia. That's why I organised a surprise birthday weekend for my husband there and I cannot thank the hotel staff enough. Reception staff (Lowri in particular) handled months of emails back and forth helping me arrange rooms, dinner times, pre orders and payments in advance. And when the family was waiting in the foyer to surprise my husband the staff were all extremely accommodating. The dogs all got lots of attention, the service was brilliant even for nearly 20 of us for dinner AND breakfast together the next day, and the food was delicious and very filling! Everyone said how wonderful the staff were - and there are some hard to please people in that group! There were comments on the comfort of the beds and the facilities overall too. So in our opinion if you want a clean, comfortable hotel with great staff in a beautiful location then this is the place. And thank you again to all the staff.

Just back from 2 nights at the Hotel. We stayed in a superior lodge, and took our dog with us. The facilities were great. We used the Leisure Centre, which was very quiet in the afternoon. The staff were lovely and friendly and breakfast was very good and we were able to eat it in the dog friendly area of the bar. I have rated it a 4 as the outside of the lodges are looking a bit tired and in need of a paint. Would we stay here again ? Yes definitely

Wonderful stay at the Waterloo Hotel! The room was lovely and modern, well renovated! The mattress was perfect and we had a great quiet nights sleep! Location was great for one night we explored the parade of shops and cafes 10 minute walk away. Breakfast was lovely as well! Vegan cooked breakfast made on request and was great! Would absolutely come back here if we’re in the area again!

Overpriced ! Rooms that I stayed in was away from the main hotel the only bonus I could park outside. Rooms was dark and dingy quite old fashioned. Scruffy dirty net curtain in the bathroom ,tiny TV on the wall . Food not great I wish I had eaten somewhere different. Breakfast was better but no finesse to the presentation . I wouldn’t rush back I’m afraid not at £135 per night

Stayed as part of a Charity 3 Peaks event with The Curtis Palmer Program. We arrived late, but made to feel welcome, and our 14 meals prepared without fuss. The accommodations in the chalets at the back were just luxurious, spotless, plenty of room, tea/coffee was aplenty. Beds super comfy, powerful and hot showers. Just what we needed before our climb up Snowdon the next day. Our breakfast was lovely too, plenty of tea/coffee and toast. And great Welsh Fry up.

Stayed in Room 17. It was opposite the stairs and a public toilet so there was quite a bit of noise outside the door. Room was a bit tired looking and some of the light fittings were loose. Woken abruptly at 2am with loud knocking noise, then woken again at 3:30am with noise of boiler/extractor which was constant and prevented us from getting any further sleep. Left just after 6am but didn’t get to speak to anyone as reception was locked. Avoid this room at all costs, total nightmare. Not worth the cost but have to say the staff were nice & friendly.

We stayed in the main hotel for one night. We liked: friendly staff, comfortable beds, cleanliness, the food, good shower, the location Could improve: room was soooo hot (fan provided some relief but still did not have a particularly restful night). Leisure facilities are quite tired-looking but the pool is a decent size

We have stayed at Waterloo several times, which speaks for itself. The location is beautiful and accommodation is always to a good standard of cleanliness with comfy beds. The staff are very helpful and accommodating and the food is very good, we always enjoy the breakfast. The pool/gym facilities are a nice additional option. The discount in some of the local shops is a nice touch too. I'm sure we'll be back!
