Cowrie Guest House

Stayed here for 3 nights 25-27th March .Ideal as so near the Railway Station We called in to see if they would let us leave cases and Ruth said we could check in as room was ready. Ruth and Ian very friendly .we stayed in room 3 and was lovely very quiet no need for the ear plugs which are provided.I really like that unless you requested the room to be cleaned they didnt enter the room .Each room had a table outside which they placed the pre order form for breakfast plus teabags ,water, towels etc .They is a laundry bag in your room to put towels in .Massive plus was fresh milk placed in fridge on the landing first time we have ever had fresh milk provided .Breakfast was lovely especially the sausage .Each day you can order a special .I had the fresh fruit waffle can recommend this . We upgraded to room with a bath glad I did as with all the walking we did I needed it for my aching back .The shower was lovely though too.Ruth also makes her own room spray provided in bathroom .i loved the Bergamot and Lemongrass I bought one to take home, It was our first time in Berwick .We did the Riverside walk and the walls then crossed over the bridge to Spital beach, We caught the x18 bus outside the station and went to Bamburgh and Seahouses you can get a Northumberland Day rider ticket which means you can hop on and off different bus operators.

Just what a guest house should be. Just what a guest house should be. Very comfortable room with a great en suite shower room. Spotlessly clean. Fantastic breakfast cooked to order using quality local ingredients. Many thanks to Ruth and Ian for being such great hosts. Hope to see you again soon.

Lovely short break Very friendly owners, very nice cooked breakfast, only couple of mins walk from the train station, then couple more mins to walk to town centre

Worth a visit Don’t be put off by first impressions of the town! Lovely attentive host who was happy to advise on best places to visit. It was a Good room but a little small. Good breakfast cooked to order and good quality ingredients. Certainly worthy of another stay.

Loved it. A very welcoming and very comfortable place to stay, I thoroughly enjoyed my 4 night break. The location is excellent, the breakfast was outstanding and the area itself is lovely. A special thanks to Ruth and Ian for giving me the info on local cycling routes.
