Three Tree Hill Lodge

This is a perfect place to rest, and to explore. The lodge has mastered hospitality - such detail and attention in all they do. I loved the accommodation itself - so comfortable and tasteful. Enough privacy from the neighboring units. Everything was classy, elegant and thoughtful - from the little shop, to the dining area and patio's and the library. Yet it remained pleasantly simple and earthy too. The pool area was a real treat. We loved the self-guided walks, the nature and scenery is South Africa at it's best. We used the venue to relax and restore and could not have wished for more. The food was superb - very creative and fresh, and the staff are attentive and pleasant. Loved everything about this lodge and will definitely go back - it was such a spoil!

Our stay at Three Thee Hill definitely warrants a 5 star or 10/10 review….. from the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Melanie and Cheryl and showed to our lodge, which itself has the amazing views over the valley. We did an optional guided walk with Cheryl (the owner) which from the first steps was very special; we nearly stumbled into some Zebra and did a beautiful walk for circa two hours into the game reserve. Food that evening was excellent, as it was for the rest of our stay. Our main full day was spent with Pierre who is a walking history book on all things Spioenkop; his introduction over breakfast (wonderful again – surroundings and food itself) and his on-site explanations really brought the atrocities and mistakes of the battle to life; highly recommended for anyone with an interest into the past of South Africa.

Group of 8 from Western Australia. Home away from home is an overused expression, but it is truly applicable here, with wonderful service in addition. The facilities are very comfortable and interesting, the food is delicious and the owners and guides are very passionate, informed and generous with their time and energy. We could not recommend it more highly. Thank you for a memorable few days.
