It is currently 5am and I haven’t slept a wink since getting in bed six hours ago. There is a group of at least ten people loudly partying about five feet from my window on the street (there is no club down there just a historic village, these people are just hanging). And they have been there all night. I’ve called down to the front desk (which is 24/7 or supposed to be) five times now and no one has picked up any of the times. I will be asking for a refund in the morning. I don’t usually leave bad reviews but I booked this hotel due to its good rating and because I needed a good nights sleep before a big work meeting and it has turned into a nightmare. Book elsewhere. It wasn’t even a good deal for the room in terms of price. The room also has no phone, no thermostat to control the temp, and is too small to sit down anywhere but the bed. Beware. Edit: the response from this hotel is so bad I am posting it below. Note they fault me both for not getting through to the front desk, despite my calling, for not changing rooms at 4am (hard to do with no one picks up too) and for booking a room in the city and expecting sleep. Dear Scott, You had a street facing window in room 215, and the noise you heard was from people passing by outside on a saturday night. We are a city hotel, and this sort of activity is to be expected. I am off course sorry to hear that this kept you wake throughout the night. We would have had mitigating options in the front desk both from earplugs if that would have helped or like my employee mentioned - switching to a different room. After having talked to my employee I understand you tried calling the front desk 7 times between a very short timespan when she was occupied with a securty round in the hotel after 4 in the morning. If you had contacted us directly preferably to receive a new room or earplugs earlier in the night we might have been able to help you, and as it stands I can unfortunately not give you any discount for this stay.
