"Modern hotel, spacious room, good English breakfast. The quality of the welcome is very variable: sometimes professional and pleasant, sometimes unpleasant and impertinent. The area is quiet, residential and ultra secure but it is strongly advised not to go out on foot because it is surrounded by sensitive areas. To go to the city center or even to dine a few blocks away, you have to go by taxi. It is better to stay on Marine Parade"

"Location is 10/10. Down the road from Florida Road where all the food hotspots are! The place could do with more frequent discarding and replacement of linen. Sheets looks worked out. Staff is fantastic. Secure parking. Rooms a bit tight, but travelling for work it served its purpose perfectly. Water pressure in the WC is great!"

"We stayed at Dei Gracia Guest House for approximately 28 days during a visit to Durban after booking privately with the owner. At the time of booking we were shown photos of the guest house and our understanding was that this would be the accommodation. A few days before arrival we received a message welcoming us to the “holiday house,” which we understood to be part of the same property. During our stay we spent time in both the holiday house and the guest house. The property consists of several buildings on the same premises, including the owner’s residence at the front, the guest house behind it, and the holiday house further back. During the stay we raised a number of maintenance and cleanliness concerns. These included a bathroom door that came off before being repaired, a shower that did not drain properly and did not have a shower curtain, and mould in some areas. We also observed signs of pests during the stay, including cockroaches and droppings in drawers. On one occasion a cockroach was found inside the toaster. After raising these concerns we were temporarily moved to another unit on the property while some issues were being addressed. That unit did not have cooking facilities available to us. Travellers may wish to confirm which specific unit they will be staying in and the facilities available before confirming a booking."
