Whispering Palms Hotel

Very disappointed with this hotel. A gorgeous setting on the beach, large spacious room with a decent balcony equiped with lounger chairs and coffee table overlooking the Indian ocean and large swimming pool. It could be paradise. Unfortunately, the place is not cleaned properly, our bathroom and shower were thick with limescale and dirt in the corners of the shower. The fridge in the room did not work, the curtains were stained, we stayed for 5 nights and our room was not serviced once! The restaurant service was really poor, staff had little knowledge of hospitality, we managed to get our inclusive breakfast, but then ate every other meal. I could go on and on, two main points we found very disturbing, green algae growing on the walls of the swimming pool and open electrical fittings showing cables and connectors, I don't know if they were live, I kept my fingers well away. Once they had our money they dissappear. To sum up, a 1 star hotel masquerading as a 3 star. Not recommended

Very bad experience , had a very bad stay ! First off , when we first step into the hotel no one was there to usher us , the whole hotel was lack of staff , we waited at the reception for 30 min till we finally met someone so we could get our key . Next , the room was so dirty , floor was sticky , toilet was clogged , air con was faulty and lastly there’s stain all over the curtain and there’s a big hole in it too ! Let’s please not talk about the dinner . Usually set dinner came with salad , soup , main and dessert . They told us salad , soup and dessert are unavailable and for the mains there is only spaghetti left , after a call to our travel agency complaining about our dinner , they made soup for us .therefore , this means that the soup are actually available is just that they are not willing to cook . We added three fried eggs to go with our spaghetti (self-paid) and turns out the hotel told our travel agency that it is a complimentary food for us since we did not have our salad and desserts. They charged us 1800 rupees . Bad hotel management , dirty , lack of manpower , lack of variety of foods and bad attitude from the staffs .

The building of the hotel is nice. Rooms are spacious. There is a good pool . Humidity is extremely high in the room,especially when guests below switch on a conditioner+19,the floor of the room above becomes wet. Bed clothes become wet too and you shiver with cold at night. The ocean is rough opposite the hotel, sunbeds need repairing. The menu is poor and food is unreasonably expensive. The staff hardly understand English,except the lady at the reception. I would not stay at this hotel once again.

This is a beautiful place right by the sea in Indurwa. What makes this place amazing is the staff ! What a lovely staff and what an amazing light they bring to Sri Lanka. Very helping, always there to see if you need anything, smiles on their faces everytime. I had a lovely peaceful stay, and would love to stay again.

Это самы ужасный отель который я когда либо видел! У него только один плюс это расположение! Номера грязные, постельное белье рваное, смесители в ванной ржавые! Бронировали на букенге по одной цене а приехали и с нас потребовали на 50$ больше! На включённый завтрак приносят пустой амулет и 2 куска хлеба с маслом и вареньем ( каждый день)

Make My Trip booked this Hotel merely by checking the reviews online & did not check if this Hotel was in a condition to operate. We checked in at around 8 pm due to the long drive from Nuwara Eliya to Bentota. Upon arrival we were shocked to see that the hotel looked abandoned with no staff around, just an old security guard who gave us the room keys. We were allocated a room on the ground floor (being a couple). The hotel was under renovation with all debris & dirt fallen outside our room balcony. The entire hotel was empty with only 1 couple. The Ac wasn’t working, no phone, no kettle, no room service, no breakfast provided, washroom windows kept open & jammed, drinking water was dirty. There were coconuts fallen in the swimming pool with dirt & the entire hotel was poorly lit. The toilets were filthy. We immediately contacted our booking agent who tried to check for other hotels around. It seemed way too risky for us to stay that night & we literally feared for our safety being in an unknown place that night. Again, our relationship officer seemed least bothered about our safety. Luckily, our guide was our only hope & kept checking on us over the phone. Due to this unhygienic & pathetic Hotel booked by MMT, my wife started feeling unwell & we had to change the property at the break of dawn. Lacked all safety rules & regulations for tourists! Beware!
