Ambassador Playa I

A Lovely hotel in a great position next to the 'strip' although once the balcony door is closed the noise is minimal. It's very clean and all staff are friendly and helpful. The pool area was busy but it was August so we expected it. The sunbed dash at 08.30 wasn't as bad as I expected however you still had to take your towel down before 9am if you wanted a decent spot. There was entertainment on every evening inside and outside by the pool with some acts better than others and happy hour local drinks between 8 and 9pm. The restaurant which covers Playa 1 and 2, was clean but gave a canteen vibe and although there was a good variety of food on offer it was rarely hot and a pet gripe for me was the cold plates. There is a small bar in the restaurant but this is close for those entering from Playa 2 so if you go in from Playa 1 at opening time you might have a lengthy queue to join for a drink. There is also nothing to stop anyone from walking in off the street and accessing the pool or restaurant because no checks are made and no wristbands are in use. These are minor gripes, we enjoyed our stay and would consider the hotel again if we return to Benidorm.

Don’t stay pool side if you want to sleep before midnight. However the other side is also noisy as a family member had a room the other side. The entertainment is so so so so loud they can hear them in Australia (and not all that great, Adele was the best). It’s actually a joke, even ear plugs haven’t drowned it out ! Basically this isn’t a place to stay if you have children under 10 or want to recharge. I’m shocked hardly any reviews mention this. I’ve had approx 4 hrs sleep a night and can’t wait for my own bed. Pools are small and sunbed wars are real. Location is good for the beach and if you have come here to get drunk or join the scooter brigade. The food has been pretty good and they do, do a takeaway lunch if you order the day before and are going out. Staff are friendly enough. Overall would I come back, it’s a firm no from me.

Fantastic hotel!! Great location for beach and bars. Rooms are great, lovely walk in shower, decent size balcony. Our room overlooked the bars but once the doors were closed we couldn’t hear the noise. Air con was very good!! Food fantastic. Staff very friendly and helpful. We arrived about 10pm, the guy on reception was very welcoming, provided us with a bag each containing 2 rolls, tin of tuna and pate, crisps, apple, banana and a bottle of water. Tea, coffee and milk in the room. If you want more it’s a cost of €5 for the week. Bars very good and prices reasonable. Would definitely recommend. Thanks for a fantastic visit.

Lovely hotel spotless, reception amazing on first night when we lost the key to the lock of one of our cases handyman was called and problem solved within 10mins. Room spotless and cleaned daily and fresh towels given. Food really good and we are fussy eaters we never went hungry. Restaurant staff always polite and hardworking they don't stop. We did not have a pool view which didn't bother me because I don't go on holidays to stare at a pool from my balcony. Our room overlooked the explorers bar and was good to people watch after a night out. The shower head could have been higher and I'm 5ft2 but that didn't spoil anything for me . The only thing that annoyed me was pool area I don't go on holiday to get up at stupid o clock to get a sunbed and the days we went to the pool all beds reserved but we sat near the bar and watched that these beds were reserved with nobody on for hours, hardly seen control. Anyone can access the pool area and nobody is questioned. I think wristbands should be given and sunbeds allocated come on ambassador you have a lovely hotel but needs to be stricter around the pool area but thank you for a lovely stay.

Stayed at the Ambassador playa 2 in July this year. Have to say, we had a great time. Hotel is fantastic. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was amazing and great selections at meal times. Rooms were very nicely decorated and cleaned most days with fresh towels. Parasols were a problem on most days as there wasn’t enough, but we were always able to get a sun bed. Thanks you for a lovely stay. Would certainly go back and highly recommend. Many thanks 🙏🏻

Liked this hotel - overall. Just did not like how I was spoken to at times. The room etc was basic but no problem. Clean. Food - great variety. Quiet room - ideal and we did request this. No other complaints . Good week. Would have given 5 stars only for staff rudeness!
