Barceló Benidorm Beach - Adults Recommended

Disappointed from the moment we we arrived girl on reception desk couldn't be any more disinterested in us if she tried , we were told our room wasn't ready until 3pm this was at 12 noon and she would phone us to let us know ,at around 1.45 we saw other heading to lifts with case,s we didn't get call . Anyway got key went to room 445 the room itself was OK bit small as was shower room but the balcony you could near touch the side of the adjacent hotel and could only see beach a little bit if you leaned over balcony We complained got another room 342 little bit better , but if you don't get a beach front room then it's a bit on the dull side Maybe staying at don poncho spoiled us .even little things like no replenishing of milk for coffee no bottles of fresh water that we've had in 3 star hotels It's not dreadful but didn't live up to our expectations so I doubt we would come back or recommend to anyone

Currently staying here. Arrived Tuesday for 5 nights. Stayed here previously in January in a double room with side sea view. This time we went for a deluxe double with sea view and balcony. Beautiful room with terrace, Sun beds, settee and table and chairs. This break is to celebrated our wedding anniversary and we arrived to a complimentary bottle of champagne. Hotel is beautiful, stepping out onto the promenade and a couple of steps over to the beach. Everywhere is very clean and personable staff. Only slight issue, but not weighty enough to knock off stars, is regardless of length of stay you only get two complimentary milks and coffee in the room and if you want more there is a charge. I can understand this if staying for one night but not when staying for five. However like already mentioned, not a dealbreaker in any regards. Hotel is in Old Town with lots of bars and lovely restaurants and it’s only a 15 minute walk to the New Town so ideally placed. Definitely coming back, in fact we intend to book for March!!

Stayed for the first time last July for four days and wrote a positive review. This time stayed for four nights but brought two other couples with me so three couples in total. Found everything just as good as last time and my friends were happy with their stay too. I would still recommend either a side sea or full sea view if your budget can stretch to either and try and get floor seven (top floor) or as high as possible. The lifts still have a mind of their own so its a lottery what floor you end up on but you will with perseverance get to your floor eventually......Personally I'd take the stairs if you can as it can be quicker. The food is still very good with plenty of choice for breakfast and evening meals but I would still would like to see water available from a water dispenser for free with your evening meal rather than having to buy bottles brought to your table. The selling point is still the view from the terrace on floor eight which opens at 10am its still the best view of Levante beach any hotel can offer as the hotel itself is right on the beach front. Hopefully if I came back to Benidorm another time the Barcelo will still be my first choice of stay.

What can I say ? The Barcelo is a beautiful beachfront hotel. At check in they do ask for credit or debit card details which was fine, We were in room 511. Side siew room. The rooms are beautiful with very comfy beds. The safe is free and is located above the fridge in a cupboard. (We had to ask reception where it was) . If youve booked a sidd sea view room ask for room 511 as some of the other side seaview rooms don't have much of a view. Tea/coffee avaliable in roon and a complimentary bottles of water in fridge on arrival, however these are not replemished but there is a supermarket next door. My only winge are the lifts are slow and you need to keep tapping your room card and then press the number you want. On the 8th floor is the rooftop bar where the pool is located and various comfortable sunbeds, tables and chairs. Great views and good price on drinks. Pool is quite small though. Please note the rooftop bar does not open before 10am so the lift won't go up too that floor before 10am. Its open 10til 6 everyday. FOOD Fantastic selection to suit all. Always hot . In fact the best food we have tasted in this hotel compared to others we have stayed in. 10/10 Location Best of both worlds walking distance to the old town and Pontiente side is 10 mins. In our opinion that is the best side. However if you prefer Levante side. Its on your doorstep. As for bars/restaurants Too many to remember. There is also a bar restaurant Santa Maria on the terrace downstairs for a lovely meal and drinks. Overall Would we stay hers again. Hands down. Overall experience 10/10

Recently stayed here for 4 nights 4th to 8th Nov room 434. Bed and breakfast for my husbands birthday great location right across from the beach. Good atmosphere generally room was very modern with a small balcony and fridge 2 small bottles of water on arrival. Breakfast was excellent very well organised and lots of choice we both really enjoyed it set us up for the day ahead. Lovely rooftop bar with loungers and a small pool reasonably priced. We had a lovely tapas lunch sat on the terrace again reasonable price wise. Only let down by personal items going missing from the room nail clippers first and on our last night my husbands after shave was missing the only bottle he had. We reported this to the front desk on our way out for our evening meal the receptionist said he would report it to his manager but on checking out the next day nothing more was said. This spoilt what was otherwise a lovely special short break and we would return again.

Nice hotel food a hit or miss and always cold also could not believe that pool is not heated in winter as we stayed in Helios last year and swimming every day pool temperature 32. Staff excellent and also location but unfortunately would not return in winter.
