Hotel Best Triton

Complicated building design, no signage for which elevators going where, had to pay extra to use interior pool, and additional charge for towels. Water puddles everywhere inside after rainfall

Das Hotel ist sehr groß mit einer weitläufigen Anlage. Personen, die nicht so gut zu Fuß sind, stoßen hier schon beim Gang zum Speisesaal, je nach Zimmerlage, an ihre Grenzen. Die Größe des Speisesaals passt zur Hotelgröße und ist dementsprechend laut. Die Speisen sind vielfältig und schmackhaft. Viel Abwechslung. Die gesamte Anlage wurde in 2024 renoviert und erweitert. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön. Die TV-Programmen könnten noch erweitert werden. Für die Nebensaison für mich o.k. Zur Hauptsaison würde ich dieses Hotel wegen seiner Größe nicht wählen, zumal ich auch ohne Kinder unterwegs bin.

Excellent stay at the Best Triton. Great position and only 20 minutes by taxi from the airport. It's right by the sea and a short walk from Benalmadena Marina, which has scores of shops and bars/restaurants. Direct access from the hotel garden to the esplanade and beach. We were upgraded on check in which was an unexpected surprise. The room was great - very clean, with good amenities and had a fabulous sea view. There were a couple of little things which needed finishing off (e.g. edging around the wardrobe) but these were very minor and did not spoil our stay. The staff were lovely in each department and the evening entertainment was very enjoyable. The food choice was excellent on the buffet, with new things each dinner and a special theme each night. The restaurant could get full, even in February, but we always managed to get a good table. Bar and drinks prices were reasonable and our fridge in the room was stacked with some free welcome soft drinks and we had bottles of water topped up every day (it was a superior room so I don't know if this happens in all rooms). Bus stops to Malaga and Fuengirola were right outside the hotel and if you buy a bus card (costing just E1.50) from the local tobacco store, you can load it with money and then journeys only cost about 50 cents. Really easy way to get about cheaply and reliably. Taxi ride from the airport was E30, from the taxi rank at Malaga Airport. We have really enjoyed our break at the Best Triton and would very happily recommend it and stay again. The only down side for some travelers would be that it is a large hotel with three blocks and there was a lot of walking to the bar and restaurant and also to the gardens. But we needed the exercise to burn off the excess calories so didn't mind!

Staff are friendly and it seems on a precursory measure that facilities are good; including many seating areas including outdoors, and close proximity to the water as well as good views of the sea in the outdoor seating areas. I prefer the beach front as well on the on the sea side of the Best Triton compared to some other hotels we have seen. It has good access to the paseo pathway and close to the marina and historic areas. However on close review and while staying in our room we found many issues. Several details make it difficult to sleep if you are in the tower facing the bar next door where there is late night partying, the bedroom ventilation does not seem to work, there are mosquitos hiding in the room including in the closet and since there was not a fan or proper ventilation that ran we had to leave the sliding door open making the sound pollution from outside and mosquitos worse though we tried to use the curtain as a bug blocker. There is no screen on the sliding glass door. We have to cover our faces with the sheet when we sleep but are still bitten by mosquitos. We usually kill about 4 mosquitos a day at least two of which are bloody. The recycling is picked up at about 4-5 am and we are again wakened after a poor nights sleep. We complained about the ventilation near the beginning of our stay and someone came up to look but there was no change. We complained again and someone was supposed to come but they did not then we asked the repair person in the hall and he came but it seems to have made no difference. Other areas of concern: -on arrival as you enter our corridor 1400 floor has tripping hazards at the floor level where a white carpet guard is not attached to the floor; also tripping hazard for loose door blocks ( I tripped); also fire doors are left open; we were woken with the fire alarm one night with 9 rings and it did not continue so we did not evacuate. We never heard anything more about that. I noted the women’s washroom door off the gym area did not close; some washrooms do not have soap for handwashing; the outdoor pool was closed when we arrived and within a couple of days was open but when I swam the chemical smell off the water was marked and for the time we have been here I have not seen anyone swimming. The restaurant does try to give variety of food. I know of several people including myself getting violently ill. I think my illness was from a tapas in Malaga, however my husband did not get ill. When you look at the way food is dispensed at the buffet with tongs for most items there is much chance for cross contamination with multiple hands touching the same tongs, bread cutting knives; cloths used to cover bread while cutting so it is very important to have your own hand sanitizer to use before eating. I only saw a couple of people using hand sanitizer after dispensing food and before eating. I think hand sanitizer should be available at tables to reduce illness. We are noticing many people coughing

Beautiful weather in a beautiful location- lots yo do, friendly staff and great service. The rooms and facilities are elegant and stylish with additional detail added for comfort. The swimming pools were crystal clear and fun was had by all.
