Horrible ! A resort that needs major upgrade ! My friend and I stayed with them for 2 nights after a dreamboat experience at Taj Madikeri. We were 4 adults and 2 children, had booked a Plunge Pool Villa upgrade as we were celebrating my birthday. The moment we stepped into the hotel, we experienced the worst hospitality we could ever have. Upon reaching, we immediately visited the all-day-dining restaurant without even going to our rooms. Upon placing the order, the entire staff vanished, they switched off the fans / ac. This made us move to the outside airconditioned area. However the moment we reached there, someone started spraying pesiticde. So we had to move back inside, and find someone who could assist us. There was no wait staff. As if they did not want us to be there. When we checked into our rooms these are the problems we faced: 1 My room had a broken roof, 2. My room door didnt lock 3. The outside bathtub - was rusty and poorly kept 4. Our daybed was broken around edges 5. The fan above day bed was only remote controlled, however the staff forgot to put the remote control for us 6. The pressure in the washroom for shower was extremely bad 7. The common swimming pool was shut for renovation - no body informed this to us at time of booking or in the tens of calls we had with them. Not even at check in ! 8. Despite booking a cot for our child, they did not place it in the room despite reminding them at 730pm. Till 1030pm no one came with it. Finally the nice housekeeping staff, bought a cot and made it and left in a jiffy. Only to realize, the had put wet bedsheets on the cot for my child to sleep. To make matters worse, the mattress left for my child to sleep was torn, mutilated and felt worn out. After all this, finally at midnight, the night duty manager moved us to another room. Having endured a whole day of travel and exhaustion, this was the love TAJ BEKAL showed us! What a wasted birthday celebration. They realized their mistake, but I had already lost a day. My mind was no where near calm. Their only response, we are sorry ! ... Yes, they did not charge me for the room for that night. Yes they gave us 1 hour couple spa massage ! .... But is this what we came for ? Is this your way to treat someone ! They managers accept that property needs major upgrade and thery are working on it ... but please, dont charge us 25k-30k per night and tell us that ! I do not wish for anyone to be at that property for another 2-3 years, till they can fully upgrade the hotel, then perhaps !!!!!
