Grand Hotel Beijing（the Forbidden City，Tiananmen）

Great hotel, but be careful with your belongings. Really enjoyed our stay — comfortable room, excellent service, great location. No complaints about the hotel itself. However, during our stay housekeeping changed the bed linen and accidentally (or not) took along a pair of socks that were tucked under the blanket. The socks were a limited edition Hello Kitty 50th anniversary pair — not something that looks expensive at a glance, but collectible and irreplaceable. A small Watsons tote bag also went missing around the same time — no monetary value, but we wanted to keep it as a souvenir from our trip. We reported both items at the front desk. Nothing was found. Maybe it was a mistake, but we think future guests should know: don't leave anything in the room that you'd be upset to lose, even if it looks ordinary.

I stayed in the Deluxe twin room with city view and felt like royalty. The room has traditional looking furniture such as the sofa and vanity chair which looked like something out of a museum. The view was of gorgeous greenery and ancient buildings in the distance. The hotel had a very posh appearance and the restaurant was decorated similarly with the ancient concept. The location is ideal as it's within walking distance of the forbidden city, Tiananmen square and Wangfujing. Overall a great experience and would come back here if I'm in Beijing again.

Great service from the first step we stepped out of the car. Bellboys nicely served with great manner. Great location that me and my partner can see the forbidden city every morning.

The hotel is conveniently located near Tian An Meng and the Forbidden City, however, not very convenient to find food outlets nearby, not many food choices. The hotel is in a vintage style since last century, but many facilities are outdated. The hair dryer is very old,it was very hot when you were on the warm wind, it almost burnt my skin when I used it the first night. The hotel service is quite average compared to the other Chinese hotels, if you order food, you'll have to go to first floor to collect it yourself, the hotel will not send it to your room. Another cons, the location is near Tian An Meng, it's not easy to call cars, so the staff told me to go to the hotel next door, and you'll need to walk a bit, and the driver will get confused.

We were incredibly impressed with the service here. When we experienced an issue with the window blinds in our room, the technicians arrived almost immediately. I was especially impressed by their safety protocols—they explained they couldn't enter without a representative from another department present, which felt very secure and professional. Additionally, the breakfast was outstanding! There was a massive selection of choices, and every single dish we tried was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

Excellent location & rooms are very comfortable. All the drinks in the mini fridge are free :-) . The hotel is nicely decorated and is conveniently located near major attractions like Imperial Palace, Tiananmen & also walking distance to Wangfujin Metro Station.

This is the hotel to stay in if you are visiting Beijing. Conveniently located and well serviced. Watching the sun rise and set reflect off the golden roof tops of the Forbidden City is well worth it. (We stayed in both Forbidden City view and Old Beijing view rooms. We had roof-tops views of the forbidden city from both rooms. The only difference for us was one room was on 8th floor and the other on 5th floor.)

Awful hotel. Nice people working they're but they were VERY unhelpful and wouldn't help me refund a room I accidentally added to my reservation. I requested a refund three times on trip after asking them in person and them saying yes. All requests on trip were denied. On top of this, the location isn't too great. You're in the heart of traffic no matter where you choose to go by car. I was hoping. This would be a 5* luxury experience but it really let me down. Hope they can improve going forward. They also lost some of my laundry and gave me someone else's clothes. 0/5 wouldn't come back ever.
