Super 8 Plus Hotel (Beijing Tiananmen Square Qianmen Pedestrian Street)

The location is excellent—very convenient. From Zhushikou Station Exit A, just turn left into the alley and walk about 100 meters to reach the hotel. The room is quite small, but the price is affordable, so it’s still good value for money. One downside is the air conditioning—it wasn’t cold due to Central aircon system and government regulation. The hotel provided a table fan instead, which helped. Despite this, the overall stay was still pleasant, and I would definitely come back to this hotel again with my family.

Got this room for just about 25 dollars per night and it was perfect. The location is great, super close to subway station. The staffs were helpful and friendly. Highly recommend 🤌

Location very good, is located at the food street and very near to qianmen street and metro station. The cleaning lady very nice and helpful. I would say this stay is good and worthy.

the manager that handle our checkin is friendly. we booked the room in basement at first. there were no air circulation system in it, and it is super warm cause the aircond is now only have heater mode. After 10 mins we decided to move upwards, praise the manager shows us the room. The cost to upgrade the room is transparent and aligned to trip.com. We paid the difference and move to the room at L2. Similarly the aircond only have heater mode, but this time we have a window.

I loved how close it was to the pedestrian street to walk around at night. The room was nice and modern, but a bit small, as we had to put our luggages on the hallway floor. What we did not like was the construction that happened early in the morning every day we stayed there. We also could hear families yelling in the midst of the construction noise which made our mornings not pleasant. It would have been nice to be given a heads up that construction was occurring at the time of our stay.

Location is very near Tianmen street. It take some mins to shopping, try street food .... Room is so small, but also have all equipment. the inconvenience is esims signal weak when you in the room. Wifi signal is ok but you will have vpn so you can online. cigarette smoke is every where : lobby, reception area air conditioning system may be work inefficiently receptionist can use some English , and check in procedures was pretty quick.

The hotel very close to one of the subway. Just few minutes walk. It closes to the qian men street. Very convenient.

I want to preface by saying that I rarely write negative reviews of this nature. If I am unsatisfied with some small aspect of an accommodation, I will either note that or skip the review altogether. But I felt compelled to make these issues known so that as a traveler, you can make an informed decision. I have travelled all over SE and East Asia in the past year and this is by far the worst experience I’ve had with a booking. (Ironically, it’s also the most expensive. Go figure.) First, the good part: it’s an excellent location. And if there were not the negative things which I am about to document, that would be a big selling point. But there are many other hotels in the same area, so chances are, you can do just as well in that regard. I booked a room listed as a “queen” with “no window,” because it was notably cheaper. This was my first mistake. These rooms are in the basement. The room was meh. I’ve had worse, for sure, and I’ve had better. There was kind of a constant lingering smell of mildew, or fungus. Maybe because I was near the laundry room. The biggest issue was the complete lack of connection to Internet or cell service, and consequently, how this was handled by staff. To describe the WiFi as “poor” would be misleading—there was nothing. I could not even turn off WiFi and attempt to use my data. I simply could not connect at all from my room. I could only connect by turning off WiFi, using my data, and going upstairs. Worse than this issue was the manner in which I was treated when trying to have it addressed. After going down and having a look, the front desk person just told me “well my phone is fine, must be yours.” My phone had no issues when I was outside or with any other WiFi at any other hotel. And anyway, that’s no way to treat a guest. On more than one occasion, I was literally laughed at to my face when trying to get something addressed. I would summarize this way: if you book an upstairs room with a window, you might have a pleasant stay and never confront an issue. You will probably be well taken care of if you are Chinese, so you should disregard this review. However, if you are a western tourist and don’t speak Chinese, the treatment is palpably worse. I don’t even think I am harming them with this review, because if you are a western tourist, I get the impression they would prefer not deal with you, so by warning you, I’m doing you and them a favor.
