Beechworth Lake Sambell Caravan Park

Great campsite. Immaculate bathrooms. Quiet. Well organised. Plenty to do in Beechworth such as Beechworth Gaol and the Ned Kelly involvement. Lake swim idyllic as water very warm. Just avoid the mosquitoes by the Spring Creek. Amazing sunsets at dusk. Will return.

We had a lovely stay at the Lake Sambell Caravan Park. We camped at an unpowered site with a view over the duck pond and lake, and a short walk to the local "beach". We took our dog, and it was lovely to see so many other people also there with their pets. The other campers were friendly and chatty without being nosey - I had forgotten how different this is to staying in a B&B where you rarely see other people! The campsite is excellent. Our area had plenty of shade from the hot January sun, and as the park was not full we had plenty of space between us and other guests. The bathroom and kitchen facilities were in immaculate condition and there were lots of staff around keeping the grounds and facilities in excellent order. It's about 1km or so to walk into town along beautiful well shaded shared paths, and there are plenty of eating and drinking and coffee options available. I highly recommend Lake Sambell.

We love this park. It is very clean, lots of shady camp sites and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Town is a 10-15 minute walk away. Lake Sambell is accessible from the park and it is great for paddle boarding and canoeing. There is also a little beach that is good for cooling down in. There is also a little creek, ideal for putting your camp chair in to cool down and relax on hot days. There is a lot to do in Beechworth so you can relax or be busy.
