Motel Bear Lake

I up in the '60s and this is exactly how I remember roadside motels looking when I was a kid. But this one has modern amenities (a really nice firm bed, satellite TV, AC) yet keeps its kitschy retro feel. My wife and I were here for just one night before joining a family gathering at an Airbnb farther north, and we're glad we picked this spot. Unfortunately we didn't get to use the pool (we rolled in at 9 pm and left the next morning at 10) but it looked great. Overall, the room was scrupulously clean, the bed firm and comfortable, the noise level from adjoining rooms nonexistent. Pet-friendly, too. Only the tiniest of quibbles: Some of us are weird enough to actually want to watch the local TV channels, so it would be nice to add those to the TV fare. Also, most hotels these days have an ironing board and iron in the rooms; ours didn't. That would be a nice addition for folks bound for a fancier event, like a wedding. But overall, five stars!

I’ve stayed here over the 4th of July a few times since they opened, and it’s always a great time! Everyone who works here is kind and helpful. The rooms are clean, the bedding is light and soft, the ac is a godsend in the July heat. There’s a lake and a yummy diner down the street. Plus there’s a pool! I love that I can get anywhere in the area super quick. You can get to the small towns for food, or go to the Dunes or the Lake. There’s so much to explore, and something new every time I go back. Can’t wait for the next trip :)

This is such a cute and unique place.The king bed was new and awesome.check in was sooo easy. Beautiful lake right across the street.Would love to come back when weather is warmer to use the pool.It looks awesome.So glad someone cares enough to revamp old ,instead of tearing down.Much more spacious than most hotels.We will definitely be returning.
