Seagull Bay Motel

Our room was in a building behind the main building so we did not have a view of the water. Was not aware that some rooms did not have a view of the water. Room was clean.

The check in service was very pleasant, desk attendants very friendly. I was hoping to do an early check-in, but understandably they were able to get us in an hour early, which was totally fine since we were on an Apostle Island cruise anyway. Was a tad confused where our room was, and it was #1 up by the road. Desk attendant gave very clear directions on how to drive up there, and where to park. The only thing that needs attention is the parking area itself as it is in sore need of new pavement. Our room was very clean with all the amenities we needed. This is an older property, so the smell was a bit musty, but once we had the a/c turned up, that helped to dehumidify the room. The bed was very comfortable, but a bit low since it's a platform bed, so those who need a higher bed should take note. My husband slept quite lightly that night, which is unlike him, so he heard some vehicles, but I slept like a baby and maybe heard 1 around 11pm, but easily fell back to sleep. The cost of the room is comparable to other hotels we've stayed at that are in a great location. Check-out was very seamless, and done through email since we had to leave at 5am the next morning, so that was highly appreciated!

We stayed at the Mill House by Seagull Bay - and it was FANTASTIC. We have stayed previously at the original Seagull Bay property and Mill House feels totally in line with the original & has some neat additions! Mill House is right in downtown Bayfield so we could walk to literally everything. Our room was #1 & we had our own private balcony that looked across to the lake. Very quiet and homey. The finishing and style from Seagull Bay is always such a treat - and the garden out front was an awesome addition. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Bayfield - I love it here!

Comfortable, clean, and cute. The room had a great view, and the location was fantastic. An easy, scenic walking path along the lake right into town, so we could leave the car parked and just wander in for dinner or shopping. Staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. Would definitely stay again on our next trip to Bayfield!

The location was very easy to find. The room was just beautiful and The view could not be beat. It was just a warm, welcoming stay.

Beautiful, quaint motel directly on Lake Superior. Room was simple, but had everything we needed. Easy walk to the downtown restaurants. The bed was a little too soft for my liking but everything else was perfect.

My husband, baby, and I stayed in room 16 for our anniversary getaway. We were not told the AC was not working before we came. It was middle of summer with no AC. Texted with front desk lady, Maranda, about the issue. She said Isaac the owner would issue a discount for staying in the overheated room that made my husband sick. Never heard from Isaac and no discount has been issued. Never would have went knowing AC was broken on 80 degree days. Very disappointing and dissatisfied with the lack of customer service on their part. Paid $500 for 2 days of staying in a sauna room with bugs. Would NOT RECOMMEND

As usual our stay at Seagull was amazing. It was our 20th year with friends from highschool.

My king room #2 had a great view of the lake from the picture window and from the deck with its table and chairs. It was newly remodeled and has a nice, soothing lake vibe. The bed was very comfortable and big. The room is simple and very clean. I like the fact that the motel is family owned. The office was always open, but not always staffed. The morning I left there was a very friendly gentleman behind the desk. I inquired about a later checkout than 10:00, which is a bit early. He said it would be fine to extend to 11:00 but then I saw that they charge for later checkout, so I skipped it. The lobby also has a nice coffee maker with cappuccinos, etc. and most guests (like me) seem to use that rather than coffee maker in the room. The motel is close to the historic district of Bayfield. Be sure to check out Hoops Fish Market right across the street and by the lakeshore. Good location, clean rooms and small town feel, so I would recommend.
