Aggarthi Bed and Breakfast

Dianis, our host was very helpful and her hospitality wonderful. The breakfast is delicious with fresh bread,yogurt, cheeses and eggs . Her location is centrally located to shops, restaurants and museums. We were on the top floor in a family room and had to climb steps but that added to the charm. We had parking available and access was easy.

This B & B is a great centrally located place to stay when in Bayeux. It is walkable to plenty of restaurants and to the local sites. A big plus is off street parking availability. Diane, the owner, made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay perfect. It is very convenient to all of the D Day sites. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choices. We will definitely stay in Diane’s lovely inn again!

We LOVED staying here! A unique stay, in a lovely home that was originally stables from the 17th century. Our room was very comfortable, with a good shower. In June, we slept well, our room was not warm, and we saw no mosquitos. :) We especially appreciated the warm welcome, the host made sure we had everything and gave an excellent quick introduction to the room / keys / parking / the area, and then left us to our own time. We are not used to sitting at a shared table with other guests for breakfast, but it was actually great, very interesting conversations with the other guests, and the host was always there to make sure all was well. The breakfast was amazing every day, lots of choices, plus French toast, scrambled eggs, and pots of coffee!!! The courtyard at this property is a dream, with a large table under a trellis, and several side tables, all in a gorgeous garden. Location cannot be better. We walked all of Bayeux, a quick walk to all restaurants and shops in the center of town. This is France, all food was fantastic! Also, we liked a nice pub, Le Conquerant, 3 blocks away. Driving in and out of town was easy, to go to the D-Day sites and other towns around Normandy. Highly recommend!!!

You couldn’t find a more perfect position for the town of Bayeux. 1 min to all the attractions. The owner is wonderful and will do all she can to make your stay perfect. The breakfast is very varied and great choices. The Garden is wonderful and perfect for a relaxing evening drink after a long day out seeing the sights.

I loved everything about the Villa Aggarthi B&B! We took the train from Paris to Bayeux and it was an easy walk from the Bayeux train station to the B&B. The garden was just lovely! You can see the Bayeux Cathedral from the back yard. Diane was so kind and so accommodating! Nothing was too much trouble. We felt like family visiting rather than just guests! She rolled out a ping pong table for my son to play with in the courtyard. When we all got tired of playing him, she set it up so that he could play solo. Kept him occupied for hours! The room we had was actually two connecting rooms with a bathroom. Perfect for two adults and a moody teenager! Breakfast was sublime! It was served family style but separated for the different families. It was quite the spread! My son loved Diane's French Toast - she makes it using brioche. My husband really enjoyed the fresh eggs each morning from his friends the chickens - permanent residents of Villa Aggarthi! Everything in Bayeux was very close and walkable. I loved how private this place felt. There was so much of interest to look at everywhere you turned! If you love places that are historic and unique - this is quite a find!

Aggarthi B&B is a charming oasis just off the busy downtown of Bayeux. Our host was extremely well organized for our arrival and the room was comfy. She offered a delicious breakfast (fresh eggs from her chickens) every morning and made us welcome with other guests. The garden is a beautiful spot to relax in and have glass of wine in the afternoon. A big plus is free off street parking if you drive there. And Bayeux is a treasure! Thanks to the Allies for sparing the town on D-Day and to the British for building a ring road that exists to this day.
