Barceló Bávaro Palace – Punta Cana My feedback: A massive resort with plenty of pools, restaurants, kids’ zones, golf, and entertainment. However, it’s crowded, especially at the buffet, which affects food handling, cleanliness, and service. Front desk communication is weak, and some amenities show signs of aging despite its 5-star status. Great for groups who want lots of activities (8/10), but less ideal for couples or solo travelers seeking personalized service (7/10). Keep expectations realistic—it’s a Dominican Republic resort that delivers variety but not always consistent 5-star quality.

Just returned from a lovely two weeks at Barcelo Palace. It was our third visit and it didn’t disappoint. We stayed in a premier seafront suite which was absolutely lovely. Two rooms, two baths, immaculately maintained by the lovely Claudia. The beach view was beautiful; absolutely loved our double balcony. Only negative was that we were not able to go into the ocean because of the sargassum. The resort did their best to keep the beach clean, but mother nature had other ideas, unfortunately. We spent most of our daytime hours at the adult pool. We rented a cabana for the duration of our stay, which was a great decision, especially when it rained and we could sit outside without getting wet. The staff at the adult pool were wonderful. Daniela and Juan kept our drinks full and always provide great conversation. Sorry, I forget the name of the other bartenders who were also so pleasant to get to know. Also greatly enjoyed the golf course, which is very challenging and fun to play. The back nine is like a wildlife preserve, with peacocks and other gorgeous birds. There’s a lot of water on the course which is terrifying to a player like me. Thank goodness for drop areas! As far as food goes, our favorite restaurants were Le Gourmet, La Brisa, La Dolce Vita and Mexico Lindo. Service was really good at all these restaurants and the food did not disappoint. It was especially nice to be able to sit outside and have seafood by the beach in the evening at La Brisa. Loved the lasagna at La Dolce Vita and the sizzling fajitas and guacamole from Mexico Lindo. And Le Gourmet was a very special dining experience with excellent table service. Being a premium guest was very helpful as we were able to make reservations well ahead of our stay and were able to have our dinners on the adult side, as well as at the Palace. Also enjoyed the omelettes each morning at the buffet. We always sat in Ana Garcia’s section; she is such a lovely person. I practiced my Spanish with her every morning. All in all, we had a lovely two weeks at the Palace and plan to return next year.

My wife and I have been 4 times to Barcelo Bavaro Palace. We've thoroughly enjoyed every time and will definitely be coming back again! We had the pleasure of working with Victor from Guest Experience, who went above and beyond to help us with everything.

The room was very clean, also they’d would go every day if you wanted it. There was one available in the morning and in the evening to stock up anything you might need. The drinks in the mini fridge were included in the stay so that was a plus. Everything always got restocked every day. Except for the wine ofc, that was a first day gift. The buffet is great. You will most definitely find something to eat for everybody. Including picky eaters. The pools were nice and clean. We really enjoyed our stay there. Alan helped us arrange reservations and anything we needed! He was available 24/7 and was quick to respond with questions or the help I needed. The excursions that the resort provides were all great and a decent price. They would also pick you up from the hotel lobby to take you to your excursions as well as drop you back off. Overall, it was a great experience. I would definitely recommend it is very family friendly.
