Moss Hotel

We stayed at the Moss hotel for a week whilst visiting Hobart and were very pleased with the whole venue. The room was very well presented albeit,slightly"tired" and the staff were excellent. Although the area at Salamanca is busy and at times slightly noisy,our room was quiet & the king-sized bed was very,very comfortable.The hotel manager was great, he took the time to help us with hand drawn directions that were spot on & we could not fault the place.. a special "thumbs up"to Sheila at reception who did an excellent job. We would definitely recommend this place and would stay there again.

Superb location in Hobart on Salamanca alongside the harbour. A beautifully styled and appointed hotel, with all the practical things you need in the room and in top class boutique hotel style. Even the smaller rooms were spacious. Cool and creatively stocked minibar. Near to restaurants and shops with the buzz of Salamanca but not noisy when you wanted to sleep.

Loved the stay. Location PERFECT, service EXCEPTIONAL, cleanliness 100% Sheila was a wonderful host, very attentive. Positioned right above the Whaler pub & amongst some magnificent dining establishments. The boutique shops were amazing with unique crafts, wonderful gifts. And the Salamanca Market was out the front door which was fantastic!!

We had a lovely stay at Moss Hotel. We stayed at 25 Salamanca Place, and it's a fantastic location with lots of food options. Our host was lovely and very helpful, even offering to loan us umbrellas. I only wish we could have stayed longer than two nights!

Should have been a 5* stay but the live music from the pub downstairs and directly under our room was a big disappointment. The bass reverberated through the whole room for hours on a Sunday afternoon / evening. Unacceptable given the room rate we paid and style they portray. I’d expect this at a back packers, not here. The bathroom under floor heating was also not working. Shame, room was nice, roomy and comfortable (even if too dark and in need of more lights) till the music started. Hard to return or recommend based on that alone. They let themselves down as the location is great, room nice and the service pretty good.

It was great the front counter staff were very helpful and explained everything and we purchased a car park too so they explained where to go and the directions were very helpful and the room was amazing the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was fantastic and the whole theme of the motel was fantastic the shower head was nice and big and there was a mini bar that wasn't too overly priced but it was only a short walk to the shops and restaurants and a market every Saturday out the front door too. There was also a chemist nearby and a little grocery store which had everything you need and local produce as well I would highly recommend this place to stay.

Great experience from start to finish :) The lady from the Reception area greeted us pleasantly and a provided a very painless check-in. She then escorting us up to our room and advised us of features etc. Further to this, all Staff we had interactions with were friendly and helpful during our stay. Our room was clean, tidy, well-presented and contained everything promised. Location was awesome, with restaurants/eateries/pubs right on the doorstep and access to buses and boats just a stone's throw away. Would we stay again? Definitely!

Do book a weekend stay because Salamanca market is just at the doorstep! Truly convenient location. The wharf is nearby and CBD is also a stone's throw away. just that to pay attention to locate the reception. Once done, the service staff will provide concise information regarding parking if you do drive.

The two staff members who checked us in were extremely welcoming and provided great service. They checked us in straight away and were extremely attentive. Our room was beautiful, they provided us with a portable cot and the hotel is in a great location. Highly recommend!
