Good location close to M3/A303. Friendly and polite reception staff. Room was very clean with all expected amenities. BUT, I would not stay here again as the rooms are very close together so I was plagued by noise all night, even after midnight. Doors banging, a baby crying in the room next door. These noises were probably unavoidable, but my room backed into the pub courtyard and there were people talking at the tables outside, again, this was after midnight - why?? I wouldn’t have expected any pub noise at all after 11. I was travelling for work and had an early start so this was a poor stay for me.

Stayed here for one night. Friendly efficient checkin. Room was a tired. The bathroom did really need a serious makeover and it had no heating at all, not even a heated towel rail. Room was well supplied with plug points. Bed was comfy. The radiator in the room was very efficient. Corridor to the room was very cold. Breakfast was really good. Would we stay again? Despite the shortcomings of the room and evening meal (see separate review) yes we would due to location and quality of breakfast.

Good comfortable room and good shower. Breakfast far surpassed my expectations and they even took my second day pre order as I had an early start on the Sunday. Andy the manager could not have been more helpful. Recommend this for short stop or weekend stay.

We had lunch today 06/09/24, scampi and chips followed bt salted caramel sundae which were delicious. The food arrived promptly and was well presented. We were served by Lydia-Mae who was very friendly and efficient. We did not have any trouble booking a table.

Easy to book on line, lovely welcome, really clean everywhere. Comfy beds , well stocked hospitality tray, delicious food. The staff were warm and friendly, willing to stop and chat and answer any questions. My only criticism is that I booked a double room but was only given one set of towels. Easily sorted.

Due to a mistake in our company's office, they booked us into this hotel at the last minute. Andy was so efficient and friendly so within ten minutes we were in our respective rooms. The room I was in was very clean with everything you could want provided. There was a good selection of beers and the evening meal we had was absolutely amazing! Best gammon I have ever had! Breakfast was just the same with really good quality bacon and sausages with plenty of other choices. All of the staff were really good and Andy and Donna were just perfect hosts. Definitely will stay there again whenever I'm in that area. I completley reccomend it. Nick Rees. (CTS).

Stopped to eat on journey from Plymouth, late afternoon / very early evening. Staff happy to be of service and kitchen to serve food. We enjoyed a meal clearly cooked for us! We have eaten there before and on both occasions were happy with the standard of food and the service. Best recommendation is that will be happy to go again!

I've grown up knowing this pub since I was 16 and as an adult have had many meals here but only now my husband and I have actually stayed here. As my husband is unwell at present we asked if it was possible to change our room to a ground floor. Andy was brilliant and put us in the nearest to reception. Rooms are clean and comfortable with everything you need for a stay. Little extras like quality toiletries and nice biscuits on the tea/coffee tray, even fresh milk if desired. As hubby has to have his meds kept in a fridge, they kept them in the kitchen fridge for us. The staff are all friendly and nothing is too much trouble. It's like a big family. I don't know all the staff names but thanks to the lady who keeps chickens on reception as she was so kind to us. We are returning later in the month. It's situated in an ideal spot with easy access to the M3 and A303 which makes things easy.

Lovely stay, room was really fresh and clean. Bed so comfy, bedding spotless. Breakfast absolutely wonderful, lots to choose from, from lighter breakfasts to the full English including vegetarian option. Staff polite and very friendly. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
