Barooga River Gums Motor Inn

We had a night in this motel on a trip back to Sydney from Tasmania. It is a great place to stay. Big rooms. Comfy big bed. Full kitchen - 2 hot plates/ microwave/ huge fridge. Wendy and Paul go the extra mile. There was full pepper and salt shakers/ plenty of milk. Equipment to clean windscreen ( ours was bug encrusted!) BBQ area neat and clean. Easy to light. Oil available. Can walk to pub for a drink or meal.

We stayed two nights in a renovated, spacious and well presented room. The room had two comfortable armchairs, a good kitchenette and table and chairs. Comfortable bed too. Close proximity to river, botanic gardens,hotel and golf club. Staff are friendly too.

Booked 1 night accommodation at a cost of $150/night. Barooga is across the Murray River from Cobram & the river is across the road from the motel. Easy check in & allocated Room 12. This property is beautifully maintained both inside & outside. Under cover parking is provided directly in front of the room. The room is very well equipped with everything we needed. The bed is comfortable & it is very quiet. 2 chairs & a table & what was particulatly wonderful was 2 of the most comfortable easy chairs & a footrest we have encountered in a motel. Bliss! There is a kitchen sink, microwave, toaster & kettle, crockery , cutlery. The bar fridge is very quiet. The air con is so quiet, you can't even hear it. There is a ceiling fan too. Wifi is free, fast & reliable. The ensuite has a openable window works well. A roomy shower too. This motel provided good value with friendly helpful staff. We would certainly stay here again.

Stayed here with friends as a last minute booking. Large and well equipped renovated room. Best motel shower i have ever had. Grounds and garden immaculate. Fantastic location near pub, cafe and river. Golf club a very short walk away. Incredible value for money. Will be back

Stayed in a renovated room at River Gums, which was just delightful. Beautifully decorated with comfortable bed and extremely comfortable leather chairs & foot stools. After a long trip they were most appreciated. The managers Wendy & Paul were most accommodating. The breakfast was huge and delicious. The gardens and surrounding areas were well maintained.

Stayed here for work for a while, I stay in motels all around aus week in week out and this is by far my #1 favourite in all of aus by a long shot! Absolute perfection, excellent hospitality - cannot complain at all

Fabulous stay in a fully renovated king room. Kitchen facilities including cook top and microwave and sink. Larger than normal fridge (not a bar fridge). Comfy chairs complete with footrest to sit on and relax. Plenty of power points. Great block out curtains to help you sleep in. Undercover car parking and lovely surrounds. BBQ area looks great and will use it next time. Great value for money with very nice hosts. Also right next door to the Barooga pub for a lovely meal.

We stayed here overnight when buying a caravan and Wendy met us in the driveway to help us park up the new van. Such a lovely warm welcome after a very long day! The studio rooms are well appointed with a kitchenette and full size fridge. Bathrooms are beautiful. I would most definitely stay here again, no hesitation.

my wife and I recently spent a night (30 Apr / 1 May 2022) at this wonderful location, it was our first visit (we reside in Albury NSW) to this lovely spot on the mighty Murray river. The room (#4 Studio Apartment) that we stayed in is superb - generous spaces in the main room with a large kitchenette and a large shower / toilet area. All furniture and fittings are modern and exceptionally clean. The TV is a good size - so that you don't have to squint or get really close to watch. The car parking space is generous to say the least - there is enough room for the low table and two outdoor chairs in between cars. The reception area is clear and easily accessible - Wendy is very capable and obliging - nothing is a problem that can't be addressed, Paul is very accommodating and friendly, Jan (my wife) and I were made very welcome - it was similar to arriving at our relative's homes - happy families....... The grounds are maintained beautifully - not a blade of grass missing. The pool looked inviting - would have been a tad cold due to autumn climate. What a location - the river and a well kept parkland area right across the road, a Golf course on the same road, and , a pub next door where we had a great meal and drinks. The cooked breakfast is really good - you get bang for your buck. Jan and I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone - if you have never been to Barooga (across the river from Cobram VIC), and you decide to go - stay here, you will not be disappointed.
