The Fairway

Stay overnight after visiting Cannon Hall Farm. On arrival at reception the lady was very nice. There's sign everywhere saying it's in the process of having a total refurb... Our room was on the first floor right next to the road. Our TV was small floor boards creek, shower was over bath and the shower head was put on at an angle and couldn't move it so it was running straight...odd.. anyway on going to bed..we had what sounds like a FAN GOING ALL NIGHT CANT WORK OUT IF ITS ANITHER ROOM WITH THE LIGHT LEFT ON OR KITCHEN FAN.....ITS ANNOYING AND I BARELY SLEPT AS IT KEPT WAKING ME UP....

The pillows and bedding are all coated in a plastic substance, presumably to protect against absorbing bodily fluids. This makes them very uncomfortable and good sleep is almost impossible. Hotel and rooms are dated, small TV. Didn't have breakfast, just wanted to leave asap.

Dining experience....it was for us. Waited ages to be told to take a seat. Waited even longer to get served at the bar in the queue. Ordered meals which came after a fair wait, and was fairly dissapointed at £12 per meal. 2 x Fish and 1x Scampi meals. Had to wrestle with packeted vinegar and sauce packets...had to ask for scissors.

Firstly I want to say the staff were just wonderful. Absolute credit to the hotel. The hotel itself is okay, it’s clean and has what you need but is very basic. It could definitely do with an upgrade considering the bar and restaurant is much nicer looking.

Sunday Carvery- average carvery, basic veg selection, turkey nice but beef quite tough. Great yorkshire puddings. Not a bad price to be honest. Clean resteraunt & toilets. Not very busy so quick service at bar & a choice of where to be seated. Drinks a decent price. 7/10.

My company booked this hotel as it was the closest to an event I had to attend. The hotel is very, very dated. I did get a pleasant welcome . Good for me was there was fast charge my electric vehicle Outside. You can hear creaking floorboards all over the hotel. It is in desperate need of a makeover. The good thing is, I had a great night sleep .

Absolutely disgusting stained walls and pillows, wiring coming away from wall. Stained flooring. Dirty everything. The bathroom! Vile. Personal hair in bath. Toilet not cleaned in months. -told can’t move. you as no room spent the whole night awake - didn’t have extra to go elsewhere. Breakfast asked if I could order and was told it was set! I replied that I only wanted certain items. No tongs out to get food. Fruit left not separated. Bread no tongs. Hot water/coffee in flask under a heated glass that you couldn’t put your hand under!

The location was perfect for our visit to Dodworth and free parking. We were a bit worried after booking then reading bad reviews. The young man on reception was very pleasant and informative giving us directions. The corridors don’t give the best impression but the room was clean and bedding was clean. A great shower nice soft towels. It is dated and needs a make over but pay low price you get less. We would stay again.

We did one night to meet up with family Quality of room absolutely shocking When coming to unplug mobile phone. The wooden panel was all loose and wires was exposed. the divan bed was rips at the sides you could clearly see the springs the mattress was so uncomfortable the carpet just belonged in the skip complained to Reception was same member of staff that was in. When we checked in. If you went by first impressions, you knew what you was getting he was very untidy. Young man’s uniform needed a proper clean but when I went down to complain about the quality of the room to see if we could be moved, the reply was no rooms available. I did ask to speak to the duty manager who did come to see me. When I explained the problem we had either said we could either be moved into a twin room or just go to another hotel. This was at 10 to 7 at night. I did tell him I was under the impression the hotel was completely full referring back to the conversation at Reception as we going to another hotel. This was not possible. We was meeting my family for my parents 50th wedding anniversary and my father‘s 70th birthday duty manager said the only thing he could do and that is tape the unit to the wall so we could not see the exposed wires. I did ask if he was happy for us to go back into a room that was clearly unfit for residence you could see he was not bothered, we paid £100 for this room not worth £30 I did ask for compensation eventually after four weeks I managed to speak to the manager she was a very nice lady understood what I was saying and worried about I did tell her that her duty manager could not offer any compensation not even a glass of wine she did tell meall these rooms was going to be eventually refurbished, but even at the end of the telephone conversation compensation was never offered at all to us. Disappointing
