If you are looking for a relaxing getaway surrounded by the beauty of nature, this is your place. We very much enjoyed our stay here for 2 nights. I loved the feeling of being in "a cabin in the woods" & never slept better in the quiet. It was great having a kitchen and refrigerator, etc. so if you feel like staying in, you can pop a pizza in the oven or heat up leftovers. And make your own coffee that is a real improvement over hotel coffee! The owners were very supportive and at the ready to answer any questions that we had. We would definitely stay there again!

We rented Cabin #5 and had an excellent time. The cabin was beautiful with high end finishes and immaculately clean. We had great communications & quick responses with the owner. This is a very well maintained property and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Highly recommend!

We just got back from staying in cottage #2. We were visiting my wife's family. She had grown up in Washburn as a child and always wanted to stay at Mission Springs. She was not disappointed!!! We camp pretty often and are outdoors people. It was great to have free wood and a fire pit provided along with a charcoal grill. Plus you can't beat the view there on Lake Superior. :) We went to both the small beach and the larger one just a couple cabins down and they were wonderful. Katie checked in with us a few times to see if we needed anything, but honestly they had everything there. We will be back!

Seriously had the best time ever. My husband and I stayed there for a couple of nights after our wedding and the place was very clean and had everything we could have needed. The hosts are so kind and are one text or call away if you need anything. We accidentally forgot our water bottle there and the host was kind enough to mail it to us. Such a wonderful place to stay. Highly recommend!

We stayed in cabin #5 for 3 nights for a mom/daughter get-away and it was just beautiful! The kitchen is so well stocked with every thing you need to cook and cleanup with. Seriously, you only need to bring food and drinks. The gift of local chocolate ice cream in the freezer was a bonus and so good! King sized bed was very comfortable and the bathroom makes me want to redo ours at home. We loved having a fire in the pit and that wood was provided. Top notch, super clean (kudos to the cleaning service!), quiet and comfortable. We hope to be back!

We stayed 2 nights this week in Cabin 5. This is a very modern and bright cabin and perfect for 2 people. Full kitchen with everything you'll need to cook your own meals. Neat "fake" electric fireplace with blue or orange flames. King size bed was comfy and soft. Plenty of storage. We really liked the shelving in the kitchen and bath. Nice toiletries. We brought our own coffee but they also provide regular coffee and K-Cups for both machines. This was excellent as we both drink a lot of coffee! The owners also leave some really tasty chocolate mint ice cream in the freezer from a local company. There's a good sized TV and a comfy couch and one reading chair. Cute table and chairs as well as a few games to play. It was cold, windy with rain/snow while we were there so we didn't really get to enjoy the beach but we did go down to look at the lake for a while and watch the waves. You are allowed to have a fire (each cabin has their own fire pit) anytime after 5:00 p.m. but there was no small kindling or newspaper to start one and the wood provided was damp so we were bummed not to be able to do that. The only other thing we didn't like, which is just a personal preference, was the overhead lights in the cabin were extremely blindingly bright with no way to dim them. So we just had to use the one lamp and stove light. Bathroom had 3 light options and 2 were warm so that was good. That said, we still rate this a five star place to stay and we will definitely be back again when it gets warmer out. Also-it would be nice to meet the owners. You check in and out by a text or phone call so that was a little strange! The area has nothing around it so you have to drive to Ashland for food or things to do (be aware, there is nothing open in Bayfield in November, we drove all the way there for nothing). Next time we'll try another cabin for a change up. Great place in the winter as it's very quiet.

This is our favorite resort. The cottages are very cozy, and clean. The owners are nice and helpful. We appreciate that it is pet friendly and the location is ideal for day trips. We love our fall visits.

Well, I think possibly friends and family wrote these reviews. I am not here to trash this place, far from it. But it was rated so well, we were kind of surprised by what we found. First of all, the owners were wonderful and grounds fantastic, whoever is in charge of the grounds...kudos to you! You need to walk down a hill to the Lake, and just a small beach but nice and sandy. Expect about 8 chairs max to fit there. We stayed in cottage #12 and yes, the beds were very comfortable, NICE towels and wash clothes. But, beds and bedrooms were too small, not good storage for clothing. One dresser was in the living room. I would like to address the inside of windows. Wanted to open some as weather was great, but so many spider webs! Someone needs to clean those. Also, the cabin I understand is very old, and that in itself is charming, but can the walls be addressed to fix and maybe replace some windows as they open and attach to the ceiling! Very tough to get around in the middle of the night. Also, a few more night stands would help. I think this place is over priced for what you get, but I don't know the owners story if they just acquired it, for example. But again, they were very, very nice people. Granted there were some newer places on the property and of course we did not go in them, and I would like to add, a nice quiet spot with lots of lawn space for privacy. I would not rate it a 5 but maybe a different rental on the spot would be a 5. #12 is rustic and needs TLC, so maybe a 3.5? Oh, the hand soap smells great!

Cottage 5 was excellent, with modern finishes in the kitchen and bathroom. It seemed new all around and was as clean as can be! Very comfortable kingsize bed, with cozy, soft comforter and two types of nice pillows for each person. There was a dedicated spot for a suitcase and a built in rack with hangers and and a shelf with plenty of space to store clothes. The end tables also had storage space. Plenty of bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths were available, as well as shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, hair dryer. Kitchen was nicely equipped with all necessary items, including a Keurig coffee maker with some K cups, and a microwave oven, dish and hand soap, kitchen towels and new kitchen sponges. Full size fridge. Kitchen table with two chairs. One very comfy sofa, chair, coffee table with a couple of board games and a deck of cards. one end table with a lamp. Modern smart TV with which we were able to access our Amazon Prime Video account. Beautiful modern electric fire place. New Air conditioning unit was very quiet. The hosts even provided doggie poo bags! There was a dedicated fire pit and two chairs. Free fire wood! The hosts promptly responded to a text message when we had a question. A day before arrival we received a detailed welcome email message, and on the arrival day we also received a brief text message confirming we could check in any time after 3 pm. Everything went smoothly. This cottage was also super quiet with plenty of space away from the other cottages. We highly recommend Cottage 5!
