Hotel Pod Bránou

Voelt van binnen wat ouder aan dan hoe het er van buiten uit ziet. Het personeel was prima alleen wat afzijdig. Wel goede tips gekregen voor een restaurant. De kamer was warm (zomer), maar wel fijn verder! Aan de rand van de stad gelegen, wat een goede gelegenheid biedt om na het eten even een rondje om de stad te lopen en hier te eindigen.

The hotel is in a wonderful location close to the historic centre. We arrived on Saturday and were able to park directly outside for free until 7:00 am Monday morning when the hotel kindly booked paying for us for 3 hours until departure ( for a fee).thank goodness we were not staying on a weekday. The room was clean and had great air con. We ate in the hotel on Saturday evening and the food was excellent. Now for the bad news... the stairs are quite steep and curved so it is hard to carry my suitcase up to the room with no offer of help from staff During our stay, the room was not cleaned, beds made or towels changed. Breakfast was buffet style on Sunday, but on Monday there was a menu. The food was ok, but no yogurt, cereal, fruit on offer as there had been the previous day. The final disappointment was being charged 7euros for a lost room card key. We were never informed of this in advance and I had invadvertantly packed mine in my case so rather than having to unpack my bags in the reception, I was forced to pay. Most disappointing and annoying.

A quaint hotel which is excellently situated. The rooms are nice and the facilities excellent. The dining room turns into a restaurant with great food. The hotel is every thing you expect or want in this beautiful town.
