The Traxx Hotel

We got the room on top floor. We felt tired to walk up and down the stairs but luckily the staff was helpful to bring the luggage up to the room once. There was only bath tub and no shower. We could not stand on the bath tub because the ceiling was low and half blocked. No table and chair. We only sat on the beds in a small room.

Coffee and tea plus kettle is there which is huge plus. There wasn't any shampoo or soap, carry your own. Clean and comfy.

Very nice young man at Reception, really helpful. BUT the hotel is very run down and dirty. The carpet on stairs is stained. The room itself was worn, mouldy and dirty. Possibly the most disgusting room I have ever stayed in. Please, STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE! Only plus was very nice staff, who offered a refund. They must be aware of how bad the room was!

The hotel is very dated. Whilst it was actually clean, it looked grimey. I checked in but went straight out, returning late at night. After I returned at night, I noticed that the room only had 1 plug socket, but a 4 gang extention lead was provided. Unfortunately, this didn't work. Therefore anything electrical needed to be plugged into this one socket which was behind the bed. I was unable to make a cup of tea as the only way to boil the kettle was for it to sit on the bed. I reported this in the morning, asking for pot of tea and a pot of porridge to be made. The manageress did this for me but there was no apollogy for the inconvenience. The dinning room also had an extremely large animal cage with a parrot in the corner. How this is acceptable I don't know. Overall my experience was rubbish with no acknowledgement from the management. Really poor.

Great budget friendly hotel Great budget friendly hotel, local to where we wanted to visit. Very friendly staff, clean and tidy rooms and the breakfast was beautiful
