Hotel Plein Large

Nous nous sommes arrêtés à la paillote qui est attenante à l’hôtel pour boire un verre devant le coucher de soleil. Très peu de choix en boisson, un service très long alors qu’il n’y avait pas grand monde et surtout des tarifs indécents ; 8 euros le verre de jus d’orange pressé, verre chargé de glaçon et 9,50 euros la bouteille de bière. C’est absolument une honte de pratiquer des tarifs pareil!

We wanted to end our 2 week trip to France in Bandol and we wanted to stay as close to the water as possible. There are a wide variety of hotels in Bandol in pretty desirable locations, but, after a bit of research, the Hotel Plein Large seemed to be our best option. Well, it has exceeded our expectations in every way! First, the staff are wonderful - helpful, friendly & very dedicated. Second, the rooms are right on the Mediterranean - it’s literally 50 feet from our room’s veranda. And finally, access to the adjoining beach and Bandol itself is excellent. Our room was perfect: clean, spacious (bigger than our hotel room in the Marais in Paris!) and the proximity to the water is ideal. Oh, forgot to mention the nightly sunsets. Incredible! Stay here, unwind after traveling through France as we did and the Hotel Plein Large will be the ideal site to bid a fond adieu to France!

Hôtel posé sur la Méditerranée. On s’endort avec le bruit des vagues. Patronne et personnels aux petits soins. Chambre avec déco épurée mais réussie. Petit dej bon rapport qualité prix. Servi dans une salle donnant sur la plage. On peut prendre l’apéritif le soir au bar de la terrasse face au coucher de soleil.

Très jolie chambre avec une vue incroyable ! Merci pour les petits cadeaux pour la nouvelle année! (Juste dommage que la poignée de la véranda était cassé, (c’était en attente de réparation) on a dû fermer le volet question de sécurité alors qu’on aurais adoré voir la mer à notre réveil. Mais ce n’ai pas grave nous avons adoré notre nuit. Le personnel est très agréable !

Hotel très bien situé avec une vue mer magnifique. Par contre accueil médiocre, à l’arrivée on nous a expédié car il était déjà 18h30 et au départ, on ne nous à rien demandé sur notre séjour, petit déjeuner sans intérêt vu le tarif, si salé, il faut payer un supplément. Rideau de douche dans la salle de bain, et compteur électrique dans la chambre avec un tic tac en permanence sont d’un autre temps!! Cet établissement n’est pas à la hauteur d’un 3 étoiles. Nous ne reviendrons pas.

We got there in a heat wave at noon. No water or anything offered by reception. Reception was (temporarily) in a basement with no A/C. Then: 6 am wake up?? we were told-- after we paid and signed- that we had to be woken up at 6 for construction. They offered free breakfast?! No thanks- we were jet lagged and on vacation. Rudeness - while we were debating this and online looking for lighter lunch spots, we stood in the shade in the parking lot only to be told by a very rude waitress of the hotel restaurant that we cannot wait there, it is only for hotel guests. I complained to the reception and to the manager, and no response. No lounge chairs/umbrella! -- the hotel would not book us lounge chairs, either at their place or literally anywhere in Bandol. I had asked weeks in advance. We spend day 1 of 2 day trip in room due to the heat. They booked for day 2. Views and balcony-- after we told them we wanted to cancel and go elsewhere, they re-scheduled the construction, and treated us to day 2 lounge chairs. The room was nice, good AC, great balcony with views of the sea. breakfast on balcony- this was the highlight. location - great location on the beach about 10 walk from all the center of Bandol. Summary- many better options. I wish we had stayed at Ile Rousse Hotel Thalazur (had lunch there) or very special looking Hotel Splendid.
