What a disappointing visit, we stopped here after checking they were still serving lunch and ended up with a basic sandwich / panini menu option. We were a bit miffed at the lack of choice but ordered two paninis which arrived on a bare plate, no side salad or crisps just the panini. For £6.95 each it was very poor value for money and we won’t be hurrying back

Recently stayed here for a Wedding what a lovely place. The staff were outstanding, really helpful very friendly, they made us all feel very welcome nothing was to much trouble for them. Breakfast was very good 😊 with lots of choices…Even though the restaurant was closed we were able to order food in and use the restaurant facility which worked really well. Great location .. I would highly recommend this Hotel and will definitely visit again .,,,Well done the Douglas Arms …

We were given a price for a room, booking for 2 adults and a dog. Our stay was fine except , on arrival we were told there is a £20 fee for our small dog.Be warned to ask before you book if there is a charge for the dog. While we understand there may be a need for extra cleaning, we should have been told of the surcharge before booking. Room was fine, breakfast was excellent.

After a busy afternoon of exploring in the area, I felt a coffee & a cake was in order. After following the Douglas Hotel on Instagram, I noticed they had a small coffee shop on site that served all day with some delicious treats. As we entered we were greeted by a really friendly man who was behind the counter ready to serve us something warm since it was a very cold day, they offer all your favourites with tea, mocha, americano, cappuccino and an all time favourite hot chocolate. It is a lovely coffee shop with plenty of seating, a warm atmosphere and really friendly staff. They have fresh tray bakes everyday and also offer a substantial selection of hot food also. I had a cappuccino and a slice of flapjack which were delicious, it was great to sit down and relax after a day of walking to review the footage captured. Thank you to the Douglas Hotel/Coffee Bothy, I will definitely be back.

Thank you for a great stay at short notice during storm Malik. The food and menu was excellent and great to see the restaurant and bar so alive. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and had everything you could need. Very friendly and accommodating with timings, especially with bringing our dog and breakfast. We will definitely be back to the restaurant and would book again if we needed to stay locally. Thanks again.
