Banbury (M40, J11)

The stay overall was good. He had a very lovely and quiet room overlooking the Oxford canal in Banbury. The hotel is perfectly well located right next Castle Quay (main shopping centre in Banbury City Centre) There is an arcade right in front of the hotel with cinemas, restaurants, bowling, gaming meters away from the hotel. I would say the location is just great. As for the staff. They were NOT great. I believe they lack of proper training to receive, register and welcome guests.

Wonderful staff, very attentive and proactive. Our parents stayed there as well and we all had a great night sleep. We specially liked the taxi booking system they had in which you push a button in reception and they tell you the taxi number and at what time is is going to arrive. They could include the opening hours in their menu as we didn’t know at what time they closed. There is no phone in your room so you have to go downstairs to order the food for it to be delivered to your room (and presumably pay there as well) The kiosk check-in wasn’t working so we had to wait for a person to arrive. The drop your card system for checkouts is great!

Great Value, A comfortable bed, with quiet surroundings, The hotel is easily assessible from the m40. Breakfast was superb, not too busy, a comprehensive selection of english and continental items on the menu, and was very good value as you can eat as much as you need to start the day off. Tremendous value. The room andhotwl was quiet and peaceful i dont have any complaints at all. The staff were welcoming and friendly, check in was simple and checkout even easier

Absolutely superb service being gluten free,the receptionist couldn't do enough for me,my breakfast was cooked separately from other food, immediately changed my knife and fork, cheff was absolutely brilliant, even came out after we finished breakfast to ask if everything was OK,nice touch, definitely recommended if you have any food allergy, brilliant 👏 😀 👍

Staff were great. Bathroom needed updating. Hotel had a kitchen electric problem so had to close for 2 out of the 3 days we were there. Had a meal in the Miller and Carter steakhouse which was very expensive. Second night we had a takeout from a local Chinese. Staff at the hotel hotel gave us plates and cutlery to use at a table in the restaurant which was good.

Fantastic friendly staff especially Kate! She was super helpful, thank you, we will definitely return. Great to get to off the motorway. Good retail park a short distance away and the town is about 15 mins walk or a taxi is easy to get. Costa coffee shop and hotel chocolat on the doorstep which is great. Miller and carter next door, a garage with an Asda express and Greggs a 3 minute walk so all in all everything you need.
