So I booked this while in the car going to Ballina. First time in my life I haven’t pre-booked a hotel, so I didn’t do much in the way of research to be honest. as soon as I booked this place, I received a couple of messages from the owner welcoming us to the establishment and giving us the code number for the front door and explaining a few things which was great. When we got there we saw that it’s a big rambling house- probably an old family home. Definitely not what we’re used to. The day was an extremely warm day and it was quite warm when we got inside. We were a bit taken back to be honest it’s very old and very old-fashioned but just beautiful. It had a big, big lounge downstairs with a TV and big bookcases with lots of books. Our bedroom was upstairs and the key was waiting for us in the lock. we passed a kitchen, that was for use for the five rooms that were in this house. There was tea and coffee and milk and a fridge and everything that a kitchen would have, and it was free for us to use and take whatever we wanted in there. Our room was old-fashioned, but pristine and beautiful ,the bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was very very large, and there was a big wardrobe in a vestibule before getting into the bathroom. The room was quite warm, and we felt a little concerned that we wouldn’t be able to sleep in that heat, until we noticed the controls for an air-conditioner so we turned them on and it worked perfectly. Once we walked down the road and had a look around and got some dinner. By the time we got back the room was nice and chilled. The house had beautiful, verandas all around with tables and chairs that you could utilise. I believe there was a small pool downstairs but this was a quick stay so we didn’t use that. So basically after the initial shock we were really thrilled with this place. It was wonderful and I would definitely go back. Luckily, it’s on the road that leads straight out of Ballina and down to Sydney. There was no difficult way of getting out of the township. It was very simple.
