Unfortunately, my wife and I were unable to stay at this property, so we cannot comment on the rooms or location—only on the service. We had what we believed to be an extraordinary and compassionate reason for canceling our stay. Despite offering valid documentation and personal details regarding our situation, The Shack's management team refused to make any exceptions to their non-refundable policy. After several attempts to resolve the matter, they eventually offered to defer our booking for up to a year. However, as travelers from Canada—like many visitors who don't frequent Bali regularly—this was more of a token gesture than a viable solution. We were extremely disappointed by the lack of flexibility, poor communication, and overall handling of the situation. If you plan to stay here, be aware of their rigid policies before booking.
