We purchased an offer from Anantara Hotel at a travel fair, where we could choose to stay at several different hotels in Thailand and Bali. We selected Avani Seminyak Hotel (a 2-bedroom villa with its own pool for 6 people). The package included breakfasts, a spa voucher for 2 people, and airport transfers. Positive: The hotel was beautiful, clean, the food was delicious, and the staff were friendly. Negative: Communication with the marketing team was very poor. Even though we booked the room 4 months in advance, it was very difficult to get confirmation that the room was actually booked. Emails were answered only once a week, and we weren't informed about anything. We only received airport transfer for one way, and the spa vouchers were not provided. We were told it was a mini-package, but we had paid for the full package. I was upset because in our first day check in we were told that we have spa vouchers. They initially wanted to exclude the children from breakfasts, but after some arguing, we finally got them. The reception staff raised their hands in confusion at every issue and seemed unaware of anything. They could only scold us when we were waiting for a taxi at the wrong spot. The presentation was good, but the manager was very aggressive and rude when we refused the offer. It was clear that after rejecting the offer, we were also stripped of the opportunity to use the spa. Even though the hotel itself was nice, everything else left a bad impression of the entire Anantara group. One star for the many issues during a one-week vacation. No problems occurred in other Bali hotels during the same trip.
